Just a quick question if anyone wants to help. I am currently still at 4.01 iOS with a jailbreak. What steps would I have to do to upgrade to 4.2 and get this jailbreak above without losing all the apps and other stuff I have done on my current jailbreak?

dont think there is a way - unless you've been downloading the IPA files and not downloading them via installous on your phone

Yeah there is. When your iPhone is in iTunes, before clicking backup, right click iPhone in the left panel, and hit 'Transfer Purchases', and your Installous packages will be backed up.

Any Cydia package will be lost though, unless you purchase the Cydia backup app from Cydia.

Bought the Iphone 4 online with 3 last week and having some trouble trying to view my data usage. When I go on planet 3 and go to the 'mine' tab and choose another of the options it says 'We can't open your account details at the moment please try again later'. I went into a 3 shop and they said call the customer service number. Did that and I got some automated message about Planet 3 being down or something yet my friends can still view it so not sure whats going on.

I am able to log into my3 to see how much credit I have used but I am more concernced with data usage as I don't want to be over without knowing. Anyone know a solution to this?

There are quite a few apps that you can use that display that sort of information. I use 'Consume' and its pretty good i have found.

Im about to go overseas next week, and have switched my phone over to international roaming. I want to make sure im not accidentally downloading data and all that while i'm over there. So I've switched off Cellular Data (Settings > General > Network), should i be switching off "Enable 3G" or anything else as well? I want to make sure it's absolutley bulletproof. It's an iPhone 4 btw.

Hey guys, don't want to take up too much of your time but I'm a bit stuck - bought an iPhone 3GS brand new off eBay (already made a mistake). Got it at a good price however the seller listed it as unlocked when it was really locked.

Got the phone unlocked by someone at a local phone shop for $60 I think.

My question is, is it safe for me to connect it to iTunes? I don't want it locking up or anything again so yeah.

Any help would be appreciated.

I only went back to telstra on wed, I've used my fone **** all since then,

so how the **** have I according to telstra already used 80% of my 2 gig? I have not downloaded a single app with it. And on my fone settings it says I have used not even 160 MB

Something to do with changing carriers, I switched to Telstra and the next day got the same message. Just ignore it as you have probably only used 2% rather than 80%.

I think it is because Telstra have set monthly cycles so when you join with them mid way through one of these cycles your data is scaled accordingly. You might have only used a few MB but it will reset soon, not in a months time.

huh? why wouldn't it be legit? It's available in the AppStore so Apple obviously approve of it.

You can turn off the alerts if you don't want them and still be able to use the app.

Got an email from Vodaphone today, apologising for their shitful 3G coverage and networking issues. They blamed it on the fact that there customer base grew too quickly, and they are only just starting to catch up with sufficient technology.
