It is on tomorrow.

Will be very interesting to see which players go for the highest amount.

Australians up for auction are:
Ricky Ponting
Adam Gilchrist
Andrew Symonds
Mike Hussey
Matthew Hayden
Brett Lee
Nathan Bracken
Dave Hussey
Cam White
Simon Katich
Justin Langer
Shane Warne
Glenn McGrath

I would be selling the house for either Lee, Punter of even Gilly.
Yeah the aussie pool sure won't come cheap - maybe David Hussey could be good value? Hard to put a price on the retired ones.

Punter would be your franchise player and you'd have your captain too. Bracken, Lee awesome opening bowling options. Have to get a gun Keeper too so Gilly may well be the most expensive of the auction.

For a player who has only played one international 20/20 and didn't even get a bat, think he could be the bargain of the Auction.

apparently games will be shown 9.30pm - 1.30am :thumbsu:

i think april 18 is the first game.

This whole thing is gonna be quite huge...

Thought Gilly was quiting all forms of the game?

Maybe quiting so he can focus on the big bucks?

Players like Symonds, Pathan, Kallis etc I reckon will be highly sought after (besides the obvious in Ponting, Dhoni and Gilchrist).

Watch for Kolkatta and Mumbai to go all out in the spending. I'll be interested to see who Lachy Murdoch's Jaipur team buys.

Wow I'm impressed, he's good at hit & giggle. I'm talking about real cricket.

I'd not be surprised to see Kallis slip a little - great player but is sort of attached to this idea that he's far too slow for the Twenty20 format.

Which isn't far off being spot on, when needed to, he can raise his scoring rate, but more often than not bats too slow these days, especially when put in a good position by his opening batsmen, he often wont go on with the platform they've set.

This auction tomorrow arvo, how does one go about watching/following it? Should be interesting to see what goes down, as it happens.

Clarke, Haddin and Johnson have pulled out. Does anyone know why exactly?

Clarke - Playing the good soldier as future captain.
Johnsons and Haddin "to focus on their fledgling international careers"

The Franchise players or as they are being called "Icon Players" are all home town Indians so for example Tendulkar is the Icon player for Mumbai, Ganguly (Kolkatta), Dravid (Bangalore) Yuvraj (Mohali) and possibly Sehwag and Laxman if approved.

They recieve 15% more pay than the next highest player on the team IIRC
