Cant find a link on the net, but an interesting article about Irene Chatfield and the 89 Fightback on page 100 of today's Herald Sun.

Apparently she is in hospital after a bout of ill-health. All the very best Irene, a true Bulldogs supporter.

For those who cant recall, back in 89 when we were to be merged with Fitzroy, she lodged a Supreme Court injunction to prevent the merger going ahead. She was successful, we won the right to try and save the club, the rest is history. :)

15 years since one of the greatest victories in the history of the club.

Yes, a great article. Terry Wheeler was interviewed by KB on SEN this morning talking about the day at Western Oval when all the supporters rallied together.

I heard her today on AW. I had just been thinking about her after visiting the Whitten Oval. The club should do something to honour her - maybe name something at the ground after her.

She also put her house on the line in the injunction against the VFL.

A true champion.
