Think practically for once.
Male children would have likely become a problem as adults

It's conquering 101
I am thinking practically for once, you want genocide of young male children. The fact that god ordered killing of young children and captive female children as sex slaves for hebrew men, makes it all good, i get it.. as i said keep your bible to yourself, best you dont preach morality to others.

It was completely standard in ancient warfare was the point. In any case, morals aren't absolutes anyway are they? particularly for apes.

A) kind of makes you think the bible was written by humans to further the goals of certain nations, not by a God at all.

B) Apes?

I was calling our friend TP, being a staunch evolutionist, an ape. Gentle ball-busting is all.

In any case, we still need to look at the OT as a narrative of God's interaction with the Jewish people.
It is part history, part societally practical, if you will.

Maybe God thought the old " turn the other cheek God" might have been lost on humanity way back then.

We are still struggling with it now

I have a better example in mind... when you have a captain like Trent Cotchin, do you expect Richmond to perform any better? :) god should stop with the excuses as he set the examples from rape, genocide, slavery, torture, pedophilia and later Jesus endorsed those pathetic prophets. And you wonder why humanity is ******** :)

I don't think the majority of atheists claim to know the meaning of life, how and why we are here, etc. They just don't believe in the supernatural. For the most part, I find people who label themselves agnostics to be fence sitting cowards.
Wait......so atheist are just a label for a person who know nothing but knows enough to slander the fence sitter fuks
In actual fact, being an agnostic is the most sensible position there is. Unless you can show me conclusive proof that a deity absolutely does or absolutely does not exist...

And you wonder why no one takes you seriously....Wonder no more.
Of all the people on this site,on this board and this particular thread you choose to pot me with the "no one takes you seriously" nonsense.
No one has ever said that to me!.
I have however seen plenty accuse you of this.
It was a very plausible response to your post and received 2 likes with more to come I'm sure.
Plus it had humour value with more than an ounce of truth thrown in for fine measure.
Plus, you usually do better anyway, thus my disappointment.

The point being podge, it can never be proven....ERGO.....Faith will always have it's place in the human heart.:).....Happy pills.
I'm fine with faith having its place, as long as its over there in the corner and doesn't interfere with the rest of us who are trying to live the only lives we know we have. That doesn't seem to be possible though, there are always people who insist that we believe what they do, on faith.
