All comes down to motivation, body types/fitness status and goals I guess. As you said she needs motivation then fair enough.

But seeing say a 6 foot 2 90-100kg guy train with a 5 foot 5 50kg chick makes me wonder if it's the best thing in regards to their fitness doing the same routine (albeit different weights)

Absolutely depends on what they want and what they're doing. Most people could probably do similar training and get results

4 power racks. 1 being used by a trainer and her client to do a circuit of squats (with terrible form, knees buckling inwards, body falling forward getting about half a rep out) 2 of the others being used by one of the crossfit trainers doing band assisted Chins with 2 clients and a core circuit

Some meathead BBer PT claiming the pecs do both internal and external rotation
#doyouevenanatomybro?

*edit*
Ha! To cap it off his awesome pec exercise that's meant to have shoulder rotation just has forearm pronation/supination #doublefail

I know ive sooked about this before but two girls in the gym last night doing one of those bikini body guide workouts (which are designed to be done with no equipment and outdoors). Treadmill, mats, skipping rope all held hostage for the time and legit using floor space in every part of the gym, doing lunge walking up and down the main corridor and getting s**ty at people who they deemed as getting in their way. You have to see the gym to understand why this is braindead stupid but its small and has little thoroughfare space. To make matters worse last night was perfect for an outdoor park workout (I did all my cardio outdoors then went and did a weight sesh).

Me and the missus cancelling at Goodlife this weekend. Will be giving them a spray and a big * off when I do

Anywhere else in the area in mind?

Going back to ENRG. New management. Cheaper prices. Less people. More equipment

My nightlight of tonight has been
It took me close to 1.5 hours to do 6 exercises. I couldn't do core. I had to stop doing shoulder press because a bootcamp started and they put a box on top of my phone and keys and trx to close to the bar for me to use it

Not directly fitness related but I've had to clients this week who have come from other therapists (that I don't personally know, not referred or anything)
- Female suffering LBP since giving birth 7 years ago, including tearing of her abdomen during the pregnancy. Horribly weak mid-section and could only just hold the start position of a dead bug and fell over doing a bird dog she rotated through the spine so much --> had never been given any exercises to do
- Guy with LBP (I think; he didn't make the most of sense). Had full ROM bordering hypermobility in his lumbar and hip. Passive hamstring flexibility was 90deg but could barely achieve 60deg active, couldn't hold a dead bug position for 10 seconds and couldn't perform a bird dog whilst supporting his low back in slight extension (would go into flexion to take the load off) --> had recently been seeing another therapist twice a week(!) after "buying 9 visits and getting a tenth free" pack for $500. Queried him on session length etc apart from the first one they were 10-15 minutes each and the extent of the take home care was "do some stretching and maybe some abs at the gym"

We got taught not to rag on other therapists but wtf is going on!?
Previous therapists are either morons, really poor communicators or the clients are non-compliant (possible lol)

There is a chick at my gym, she's an experienced trainer and I'd say has competed in bikini/physique comps before. But she always uses mutiple pieces of equipment, trains in front of the DB rack, uses bench seats as a place to leave her phone/drink etc. Reason I mentioned she's an expeienced trainer, you should know better in a gym. You could excuse a newbie for being ignorant to gym etiquette

Rejoined my old gym with the missus. Life is good again. Trained yesterday arvo. 4 other people there, and apparently that's how it looks most of the time

That entire collection of dumbbells is from 1 guys incline bench drop sets that he didn't put away. What is wrong with people?

When people ask you for advice on weight loss, but refuse any advice that involves eating less calories or doing more activity. Then they finish it off with "I wish I had your genetics."

+1

Eat less, move more, would solve a lot of overweight issues. Not all, but a lot of them.

Understanding the amount of calories in food and portion sizes goes a long way towards weight loss.

Had someone at our gym running their own circuit yesterday.

For his one circuit he took up all 3 racks, asked him if I could please use one of the racks and he told me to F off.

It's a small gym, no reason to try and take all the equipment at once, it isn't too hard to swap from Dead Lift to Bench to Torsonator Rotation on only one or two racks... no need to use all 3.

Did you steal one of his bars?

No I just changed my schedule and did core work instead.

Have put in a complaint about him to the gyms management, whether anything else gets done is a completely different manager.

Thinking of changing gyms pretty soon, have been asked to get off the racks because I am too small to be pushing weights before, have had people be pretty condescending of my program and try to give me *advise* when I know exactly what I need to do because of my fencing.

It's a shame because the gym is right next to my work and one of the trainers there has been a godsend for my Fiance, she got told by 2 muscle specialists and 3 physios that she will never be able to run properly again now she is running successfully, playing badminton and even pressing heavy weights (320 kilos on leg press is pretty dam good for a girl of her size).

You are much more gym polite than I lol

I'm fkin pissed off that some campaigners can use 2-3 pieces of gym equipment at once.

I couldn't give a flying fck if they are doing some form of circuit its bloody selfish behavior.

There is a chick at our gym that places her stuff on a bench and goes to the other side of the gym to do another exercise. She is not alone. But seriously enough is enough.

I should just bring 5 towels and drape them over several benches and say sorry I booked them all for the next hour. We do you seriously draw the line.

You should only be allowed to use one piece of equipment at a time.

I think ive mentioned this before but if youre gonna do a circuit you just cannot do it at peak times, its stupid. Personally if im gonna do a circuit id much rather do it outside with a skipping rope, some stairs and a park bench but if you HAVE to do it at a gym have the common sense and courtesy to do it outside of the 7-9am and 4-7pm rush hours you muppet.
