I use gloves - grip + no chance of tearing your skin with heavy lifts (since I did this a few years ago on a deadlift I always use gloves).
My little finger is completely torn over the three parts of the phalanges ::cool: from my new hand grippers, but its starting to improve now. only one way to tuffen up. You want people to think you lift shit all day, not to think you work in an office.

I'm sick of girls who only work their legs/ass. I come into gym every day and nearly all the squat racks and barbells are in use by girls trying to get a phatter ass.
I came in yesterday and 2 girls were both squatting the bar in the only 2 squat racks in the olympic room. I've never seen them do anything else but squats/lunges/sled pushes. We were the only 3 people in the gym too. I made do with the shitty unadjustable/fixed squat rack. Then a 4th person entered the gym (another girl) and she walked to the olympic room only to turn around once she realised the squat racks were taken. She then did some shitty squats facing the wrong way on the smith machine.

Honestly, for at least half the girls from the ages of 13-30, their pride and joy is where they shit from. I'd let all 3 of those babes yesterday squat on my face but I wish they wouldn't waste a squat rack in doing so.

perhaps engage them in conversation. they could be naive about their actions. help and guide them to another spot in the gym. or better still ask them to work out with you.

Technically, they're not doing anything wrong and they're entitled to use whatever equipment they want. I'm just annoyed that they work out legs every single day and that they're usually at gym at the same time as me.

You need to have a word to the female PT's about how good hip thrusts are for the female posterior, so they start getting their clients and by extension other female members doing them. Gets them out of the squat rack and doing hip thrusts. Win-win of you get the rack and what's not to like about the gym ending up with more shapely female rear ends around? :D

I don't think there's anything wrong with girls wanting to work out their behinds to fit into media standards, and who really cares what numbers they squat? The gym isn't a competition. How many of guys work out specific parts for the same reason? At the end of the day it's their life.

In his defence - it is a bit frustrating when you see a female squatting the bar or with little weight attached in the squat rack. Most gyms have preloaded barbells that achieve the same thing without the need to use a squat rack.

Squat racks should only ever be used if you need to rack weight. If you can do it outside of the rack, do it outside.

Well if it's a media standard thing, then the girls are dumb for giving into it. People's lives shouldn't revolve around their backsides.

And I don't care if someone is weaker than me.. I just think it's pointless to just squat a barbell. There's plenty of other ways to squat 20kg without wasting one and also wasting a rack in the process.

I also said that girls who excessively squat are equivalent to guys who excessively work their arms. They're all campaigners.

If they're only squatting ~20kg, it can be tough for them to get the bar above their head to squat the barbell without the rack.

i'd crawl over hot coals smothered with broken glass to lick the sweat off her abs
Is that all. pfffft

Anyway the other day I needed a spot on the bench, only gym instructor was walking some new guy around. So I got some regular to spot me. I'm thankful for him helping me, but every rep, he pretty much lifted the whole thing up for me. I didn't ask him the second set, cos I was fine, but he comes in anyway and lifts the last two reps up for me, even after promptly letting him know I was fine. I'm not sure if he was just wanting to get it over and done with, or what, but **** man, who lifts the bar for you on a spot?

The third time, I had to wait until he was gone.

A lot of teenagers and twenty something guys trying to show they can lift big numbers. It's a gym cliche of a bunch of guys doing a two guy combination bench press / upright row, whilst the latter says 'It's all you dude!!'.

Some campaigner dropped a massive stinker of a fart (silent) right in the middle of the gym today, now I guess I've been lucky that in my 8+ months of gymming I've never dealt with it before but today was super annoying, just puts you off your concentration and makes everyone else edgy giving each other accusing glares.. reckon I knew the culprit though, some dude just happen to slink off guiltily (is that a word?) into the toilet at that time.

Surely its common courtesy to step outside or in the toilets to release any toxic gases in any kind of confined room, would rather trip over weight plates left lying around on the floor than have to deal with that kind of assault again.

Unless your doing at least 100kg in some sort of squat or deadlift there's no excuse to drop one. Poor form.

Not that I've dropped one doing squats, but that'd be somewhat forgivable.

not only is it gross, its downright dangerous. imagine you're pumping what 100kg bench press and your focus dissipates as the odour singes your nostrils. crushed sternum.

When PTs are watching their clients like they're inspecting some fine, exquisite, Egyptian artefact that has only just been dug out of Tutankhamun's sarcophagus.

I mean seriously I can tell when someone is cheating or using sloppy form from across the other side of the gym, would have thought you'd be better of encouraging than inspecting.

got a bunch of kids (guessing 16/17 year old, built very lightly) that I'm currently clashing times with

I dont tend to stick my nose in peoples workouts and whether theyre using good form or have a decent routine, but they all huddle around a single machine (5 of them) and 2 or 3 rotate through it while the other 2 or 3 sit on the machines next to them on, all with phones out gossiping etc

Then when seperated, I noticed today one was running back and forth between the split group talking to them during their sets and they all had cheeky grins on their faces like a bunch of school kids asking someone out for their friend, all whispering under their breath and showing each other whats on their phones

The whole scene shits me, they do absolutely stuff all/never break a sweat, just wander around sitting on empty machines talking to each other while 1 guy does hamstring curls getting a set of 15 reps done in 7 seconds
