So today, speaking of glute today, however this is not why I posted. :drunk:

While I was doing Romanian Deadlifts in the squat rack, this absolute hot girl positions herself behind me to do hip thrusts, then later, lunges then deadlifts with dumbbells.

She could have chosen a discrete place to do them (which many girls do) or any other empty part of the gym where there is plenty of mirrors.

Admittedly, I was very very confused and stumped. Im "ok" but definitely not in her league whatsoever.

The only genuine reason I could think of, was either she wanted attention ie simp behaviour (but thats all) or she has a boyfriend and wanted to make him jealous.
Maybe she's sick of knobs on dating apps and wants to meet a real life person with similar interests? Did she have earphones in?

Next time give some small talk a go and see what happens.

Similarly. I've got a Guinea pig who watches me while I work out and then runs and hides when I catch him staring at me.

Sorry, at day 236 of lockdown, that's all I've got. 🤪

if she makes bf jealous and he's not even there that'd be somewhat interesting.

was it a bit suss when you were deadlifting and kept turning your head to look?

I think it was genuinely to stir up simp behaviour more than anything else.

Ive checked her out before, so didnt need to go for seconds. lol. :D

how about when they perform exercises in front of you while your deadlifting. right in your eyeline haha.

Yes, some days at the gym can be a blessing when that happens. Mind you the ones that do do it, are fully aware of whats going on.

Well at least at my gym.

She didnt.

No seriously, she was way out of my league. Its like sure, I can play Div 5 amateur reserves footy but competing against an AFL player is a totally different proposition. I dont mind taking on a SANFL/VFL player without any fear or regrets. :drunk:

Not to mention, there is a time and a place IMO to talk/hit on girls. Seeing a girl basically for the first time, I never talk to them at the gym. Also reeks of desperation.

Sure if this becomes a routine, lol. I would probably say hello. :$

Yeah, that's fair. I'm the same. I won't say hello to anyone, guys or girls, unless we cross paths semi regularly. I'm pretty selective about those I chat to as well. Don't want to gasbag too much in there.

Thats the problem with saying hello too much, in the end the gym becomes like a social occasion. Then you end up needing to almost warm up that particular muscle group again after a long break.

I had one guy that would tell me life stories in between his sets, instead of quick short comments.

That's the way to go about it

My teens/early 20s if I trained peak hour onwards I'd always gasbag to someone I knew as everyone knew everyone back then, always meant my sessions were 90-120 minutes, just far too long and probably stagnated any gains I may have made

Come when I hit about 28 it finally dawned on me that gym has to be health first and foremost, get in keep your mind on the job and get out. If I ever talked to anyone I knew I'd make sure it'd be whenever I needed a 3-4 minute breather after a few hard/heavy sets or between different excercises and that was about it.

Yep

Best time to talk is after a few heavy/hard sets and need recharge time, that's about it.

Or do ya cardio together

Im actually giving myself "Post of the Day". :$

I go to another level at my gym to do my warm ups and a guy took all the 8,9,10kgs dumbbells.

You might say big deal, even in this selfish scenario I try not to care. However, he wasnt using them as weights, he was doing some f**ked up exercise of hopping/jumping over them on one foot.

I punched myself in the face.

The funny thing, is that I dont think he was trying to be an a-hole, I genuinely think he thought there was nothing wrong with what he is doing.

Its the gym, I have seen some f**ked up s**t over the years.

Dont get me wrong, I know, but I have never got to the point of blind roid rage.

If anything its a shake my head and wtf am I seeing moment.

I mean if Monday is National Chest Day, then Tuesday is National Back Day, today I saw a f**wit using his entire body weight with the lat pulldown. I mean wtf can you say to these dicks? Mind you I do like it, it means they are either closer to quitting or getting an injury.

Not a real pulldown until you load up, stand up and hang off the bar

You get the opportunity to combine self defence training simultaneously while hitting the weights all in the one place.

It's a total body workout when you stop and think about it.

Sure the manager arks up and stuff like mirrors, dumbbells, ribs etc occasionally get broken. All part of the cut and thrust of a vibrant gym environment imho.

Manager's could even sublet an area for physios and doctors to treat injuries.

A gym with the complete package.

Not so much a complaint, but rather a concern.

I was in the gym the other day, there was this huge 'roider doing his workout, big deal I guess, plenty of guys on the gear. However with this particular guy, there appears one or two screws definitely loose and he genuinely looks like he is about to go into a fit of rage.

I know its coming, I also know my limitations, Im getting out of his way. :$
Finally push came to shove.

On Friday, the 'roider was using two different workout stations to do his workouts when he could have done them all at the one station.

I asked if I could use one of the stations, as it was my last exercise and wanted and always need to finish the session well on a high note. He was actually friendly and welcoming to my surprise and introduced himself to me, offered to remove his stuff and obliged.

We chatted for a bit while I was there inbetween my sets, he is very intense and committed to training. However, definitely as I suspected not 100% all there, there is one or two screws very loose. I definitely dont think though he will have the 'roid rage I predicted, only because I dont think anyone would be game enough or stupid enough to take him on in the first place and f**k him off to that extent.

In some ways I do feel sorry for him, Ive seen some girls actually go to another area of the gym while training. I saw another put her jacket back on when he was in the area and then remove it when he left. From my vantage point, I dont think he was doing anything wrong or creepy, but I guess the girl probably felt more comfortable. Mind you this was outside operating hours when there was only four of us on the gym floor in the arvo.

Claiming "Post of the day". :drunk:

A guy who has missed the past three weeks with flu comes up to me to say hello and complaining how he has lost strength.

FMD. The minute he mentioned flu I kept backing away telling him Im in a rush to finish my workout.

While I know 99.9% he doesnt have covid, I still dont want to take chances with your every day garden variety flu.

Get 100% well then come back, especially in the current world environment.

Had to change my workout order today, because a PT campaigner decided to chat up a hot girl while she was working out.

Mind you I used that to my advantage and actually managed to increase weight and reps by changing the order of a few of my exercises.

I had one of the best days ever at the gym today in 2021 from a workout perspective. :thumbsu:

Nice m8, I hit garage bench PBs today, I guess the main things that annoyed me about my bench session today was the halfway sticking points on the concentric press up, then for my 4 sets after 120kg it took ages to set up for a comfortable grip (nearly opened up my chalk block container for the first time in nearly a year), I think I'll need to buy a grippier bar over summer once something decent comes back in stock, thinking maybe the ATX Ram bar might be my best bet at a reasonable price point of $375 compared to ABC, Rogue or Verve bars in the $450-700 range.

But yeah, warmed up at 60kg for 2 sets, 80 for a set of 6, then 110 for a set of 4 which I knew I still had a bit left in the tank

So I went up to 120, only been getting doubles out at 120 previously in the garage but I knew I was good for around 3 today, squeezed out 4 which I was rapt with and was a PB for reps at that weight (normally a set of 3 is generally my absolute max at 120), so I thought yeah, let's go up to 125, proceeded to get an easy double out at 125. Could've got a triple in if I had a spot, but didn't want to risk it and fail on the pin pipe safeties, thus being a pain in the ass to re rack it, so felt let's go up again to 127.5.

Got a double out at 127.5, but I felt that was about my max for doubles seeing I had slight sticking point issues on the concentric on my second rep, moved up to 132.5 for a single which was good, no issues, then topped out at 135 for another single which I struggled a little on the sticking point on the concentric also but got it up in the end, definitely a good barometer weight 135kg seeing 140kg is my PB 1RM, just gotta increase my volume in the 110-120 range for the rest of the year from the 3-6 rep range to 6-8 rep range then I should be able to smash my bench PB.

Things that s**t me.

Yesterday, a chick was doing some crazy f**ked up back exercise on the hamstring curl machine.

I guess technically you can use a machine to do anything you want. There is no gym rule for that. :drunk:

Mind you should does some other crazy crap at the gym, Im sure she is an "entertainer" by that I mean some sort of rhythmical gymnastics or party tricks, but its all sorts of crazy crap.

When its in the open area, I dont care and its none of my business. Only when she is blocking a walking pathway which she does regularly. Im not sure if she is stupid, slow, ignorant or dont care.

Im curious to find out. :drunk:

Was it a glute ham raise she was using or a pin loaded curl machine?

Felt bad for this chick today, all 6 of the cages were taken up.

She just waited and waited and waited. Genuinely believe she waited about 30+ mins for one to free up.

To be fair there was no gym f**kery going on, usually Im the campaigner, warming up the longest in the cage. Not today though.
