Will the Hawthorn picks be able to go on to make it on 'men for all seasons' calendar

They read out the selection no. & the club. Then 5 minutes of moving bits of paper around, whispers & looking at coke bottles followed by naming some kid you never heard of.
All to a snooker style whispering commentary.

To be honest, can't get excited this year, not like last year anyway.
Don't have a pick to 44, so anyone decent, we'll miss out on. Doesn't matter, the odds say that the majority of players picked either won't make it or won't stay at the same club for their career. More than likely we might get someone who was picked early in a few years time, once they've developed at another club.
Hoping to pick up a couple of older players with our later picks. Maybe S.Wakelin or B.Evans.

Actually I'm looking forward to the draft this year, for once the Crows have a pick in the top ten. Supposedly, there's 6 REALLY quality players in the draft this year and the Crows have pick 7. Go figures....
I am hugely excited about it because two of the guys are from my school - Chris Murphy and Guy Richards, both of the Eastern Ranges. And I feel proud because Chris and I went out in year 10 for like, 5 months. I would tell you what school I go to - or went to, seeing as Yr 12 classes are over now - but some people here could be stalkers.

In case anyone in interested, there is a phantom AFL draft section at the AFL website now. It gives a pretty good description of the 87 players that the Burgatron thinks will be selected.

I'm hoping the Crows pick up Kane Cornes. That will make for good listening when Studley has to commentate a game between the Power and Crows if both boys are playing, lol.

last year the draft was watching from a dockers perspective.
This year with our first pick at 39. Its not shaping up that well.
Will their be anyone left worth drafting by then?

Here is my prediction for the top 5:
1) Justin Koschitzke
2) Nick Riewoldt
3) Alan Didak
4) Andrew McDougall
5) Luke Livingston
But if Andrew McDougall hasn't been snapped up in the first 4 picks, I'm 99% sure the Eagles will snap him up with their Number 5 draft pick.

My mate Jordan Bannister will be picked up most definately, by collingwood at pick no.34. They contacted him last nite and told him that was there intention. To all the collingwood supporters out there Jord's is a collingwood supporter and is a very good player....he plays up forward and can take a grab!
As for the Tiges i believe Kayne Pettifer is the one we r going after as the phantom stated in his predictions.......also daniel Harris looks like a very good player.

Curly5 - laugh all you want - but it is live on Optus Vision in QLD and being promoted by many a pub or club as being so. Also it is on a late night telelcast on ch7 - given the same importance of the the games telecast during the year.

Ant, Kane Cornes is s'posed to be very good, better than brother Chad. It will be interesting to see if the Crows choose an interstate lad first up, considering they haven't had much luck with their early draft picks in the past.

Televising the draft doesn't work as well here as it does in the US as most people know all the College players being drafted into the NFL & NBA as College Basketball and Football is huge over there. Unfortunately we don't know most of the young talent from a bar of soap and just have to rely on scouting reports read out on the day and Kevin Sheehan's knowledge of the player taken by your club.
Having said that I will still probably tune in on Sunday.

In the midst of this footballing Siberia, even a dull 3 hour telecast becomes interesting.
It is hard however to comment with any degree of authority when I wouldn't know the first thing about any of the players up for grabs.
Kids we have never heard of, Players that aren't really good enough. Woo Hoo!

Oh look, I am just not gonna sleep tonight in anticipation of tomorrow's draft.......I have the popcorn and pepsi all ready to go.....
I will sit and watch, only cause I am one of those who just watches ANYTHING football, hehehe. Especially during the off-season.

I hate ch 7 perth, if it hasn't anything to do with the eagles or dockers they won't show it. I missed the last couple of draft picks because once the wa teams did't have anymore selections, they switched from the draft to bloody basil who talked only about players selected by the wa teams, or wa players selected by other teams. F@$*
