roughead is by far better than mooney....and so is murphy because he is the KPF at his club going across CHF....i would take welsh over mooney and Hall and Kositzckhe because seriously mate anyone could do what mooneys doing....they even said on the couch that mike sheehan would kick 2-3 goals a game sitting in the goal square....its not a hard job when you have that quality of delivery which was proved last sat night in the HOF game because the delivery wasnt 'perfect' mooney did nothing i repeat NOTHING....and the reason i chose the kids in the KPF bit is because i think it would be worth taking the risk with them rather than going with a dud who can only kick goals if the delivery is absolutely perfect.....

He hasn't struggled for opportunities, he's struggled to kick straight.

Granted he isn't having quite the same impact so far this year but if you look at his stats he isn't far off at all. It's Round 7 for christ sake, you all better hope he doesn't come out, find his touch and kill it the rest of the year, otherwise we are going to see some serious red faces.

PS: Not 20 KPF's in the game 16 teams x (1 CHF + 1 FF)= More than 20.

It is clear that people such as Swanny36, Juddernaut08, and several others are just instinctively bitter towards Mooney for (a) being selected AA last year, and (b) being selected to play HOF this year...

While I concede he was lucky to make the AA team in '07 ahead of blokes like Franklin and Lucas, he is not as bad some of you guys are so desperate to prove... Sure he has started off slowly in 2008, but FFS, if we are to go down that line, J. Brown is bloody overrated as well!

And stop conveniently arguing that a half decent KPF should kick 100 goals playing for Geelong. Mooney was part of the reason why we were good last year... he'd previously been played all over the ground, but in 2007 he was given a permanent role at CHF and look what happened - he kicked 60 odd goals and gave off about 25 more...

Anyway, why do you all care so much?! He was AA last year.. get over it. Sure he's no Pavlich or Riewoldt, but is it really worth endless threads? Some people need to put life in perspective.
