people are SO reactive, just like our media.
Last week Duncan was the rage.
2 weeks before, Motlop was our most improved, and a candidate for Rising Star.
Now, after being off the leash for a half of footy, Bundy is our mvp??
What this tells me is we have a lot of emerging, inconsistent talent, and no Menzel this year adds to that.

Agree that MVP is an overstatement but without bothering to count I think he might be top 10 nowadays? Consistency is one of his strengths, imo - always good as a sub, pretty reliably 15-25 touches with half a dozen clearances, a few marks and often a goal when he plays a full game.

Bartel, Selwood, Enright, Scarlett, West all clearly more important though. I'd say Chappy, Hawkins and a few more too, but he's around there (taking structures etc into account as well as skill).

Our MVP just has to be Hawkins.
His kicking for goal will have to improve, but he is our barometer now.
The Lions game this year showed us how lethal he can and will be, for those who missed last years game late September.

He turned the momentum of the game almost the moment he appeared. Was screaming for them to go earlier with the sub. Was quite extraordinary how impactful he was given he was coming back from a break of sorts. His calm head, evasive skills footy smarts were exceptional. His vision and handball was almost Diesel Williams like (and will get better).

Hey , like the user name. he used to go alright the old ZT.

Yes , Williams, Ablett that sort of quality about him . Perhaps the observation made of another Cats champ applies to Bundy " Good driver in heavy traffic"

Anyone see the Collingwood WCE game? Beams has become a gun player. That goal he kicked from outside 50 where he only decided to have shot at the last second... who (that's young) do we have that can do that? Motlop perhaps. I'm concerned about our kicking power. We don't have enough players to give the ball to around goals that I'd be confident about. Duncan should be one and has done it, but not often enough. Ranting, just want to see more running goals from midfielders. On Christensen, has Ablett-like reaction speed in packs. That one handed gather in the last was sublime. Breaks tackles too, explosive. Start him in the middle next week if he is right.

No - Selwood, scarlett, bartel, in that order.

But Christensen is the best of the next generation coming through. His disposal is the best in the side IMO. Vary calm and doesnt panic when the pressure is on, always takes the first option. Becomes even more important when you consider how fast paced the game has become and some of our players are slower now.
Is also a more consistant than our other young players (Dancan Motlop who will get better) so I just wish Scott would show more faith in him and keep him in midfield
