Didn't he though.

Considering the Saffers last loss/implosion, I wouldn't write India off here.

Though if the Indian bowlers perform as they did with the bat, they'll have to do a fair bit of leather chasing.

I give SA a very good chance here.

Is the really only starting at 11 tonight? If so, Channel 9 are scum-sucking hobbos. If we bowl first, the game could be over in 2 hours.

We won the toss and batting for the first time since Xmas.....

Scum sucking hobbos. Disgraceful.

They have 3 or 4 flippin' digital channels on the most part playing utter crap to fill the gaps between ads, and they can't slot the cricket in.

And they wonder why people download torrents and watch things live on the internet. Ha!

Its funny, I'm not that hungry but found a real good feed tonight ;)

Ponting needs to get a big score tonight. If we're any chance of winning this thing, he's the man to get us there, and now there's the time to start getting his confidence back.

This is a dull game. It looks a great ground to bat on.

I'm glad Channel 9 are sticking to their guns and showing Farmer wants a wife instead of the World Cup.... Peasants.

But there is a heartbreaking decision to be made.....which blonde to have relations with in the hot tub.

To answer the OP: cricket is dead on Channel 9.

Steve Smith is like an over-excited puppy out there. I think Punter wants to kill him tonight.

On the Punter front - I'd be amazed if he makes it through the tournament. His finger is obviously causing him some serious grief.

Gotta feel for the poor Canadian fella that copped the full toss from Tait right in the...ahem...box. Ooohh, that's gotta hurt.

Yes. An existential question if ever there was one.

Who was it on this thread that said you should look at White's footwork?

It was pretty ordinary last night.

The fact that the Aussies struggled against Price & Utseya should have had warning bells chiming. They really looked uncertain against the Pakistani spinners last night.

Langers and I were musing about White's limitations. The change of pace has him worked out, the bowlers know it, then the slow pitches reduce him to ineffectual. Terrible decision, in my book, to play him ahead of dussey, who is a better bat and would be more than useful with the ball.

Awful display last night. The body language in the field from the get-go was a give-away. Ponting looks a shadow of his former self; bowlers no longer fear him.

Can't see us getting near to India. Hopefully some big changes will happen after this tournament, least of all Hilditch and Nielsen getting dumped.

You're right. It's time to get back to the drawing board, like we did 25 years ago. Generational change has to happen from the top all the way down to grade & club cricket.

If Hilditch never comes near Cricket Australia again it will be too soon. He's got the Kim Hughes touch.

Ah, Ricky, not having a slip in for Watson with Tendulkar facing 'ain't a good idea. Let me weigh up the possibilities: a catching midwicket or a first slip, what position is going to land a scalp?

Result last night was pretty spot on in terms of our position in world cricket at the moment. Overall, just as many negatives as positives from the tournament. So when does this review thing happen?

Tait and Krezja were both very disappointing I thought. Right through the tournament. Lacked the skill to bowl on these pitches.

I agree with Langers, but, once again, some awful decisions from the selectors in the planning. Squad lacked balance, perseveringly with White was a mistake, lacked the right sort of bowler etc

That is one of my negatives.... ongoing theme unfortunately.

And I see Shoaib Tait has decided 10 overs in a game are too many. What a pussy.

Ponting has gone, surely the selectors and coach will follow soon. Surely.

He'll stay on as a player, which I think isn't a bad thing. Coach and selectors is another matter
