The most abject performance by an Australian team I've seen for a long time.

If Ponting was your dog you'd shoot him, a shadow of his former self. And Clarke is not in form deserving of a Test spot.

Problem is, with the amount of money in the game now, I don't think we are going to see players walk away.

Will Hilditch have the balls like Hohns to make the hard calls?

The team will stay the same bar the change for Harris.

The other problem with the fast bowlers is Johnson doesn't want to open the bowling for whatever reason, yet if Siddle does, your wasting the new ball since he doesn't move the ball unless its reverse swing.

And once the ball stops swinging, Hilf is about as usefull as **** on a bull.

The other problem with the cricket commentators is what Healy just said.

"There's alot of players out of form for Australia that don't deserve to be there."

Then he threw in his little rider....

"But I wouldn't drop any of them at this stage"

Hilditch's history says there'll be no hard decisions.

Hilfy has to go regardless of Harris, despite defending him six pages ago. Watch Doug the Rug make a return to the team.

Johnson doesn't bowl with the new ball because he can't control it.

Of course not, there his mates.

Well, if the hierachy of Australian cricket is anything like the nepotistic jobs for the boys club that the Channel 9 commentary team is, then that comment explains a lot.

Am I right in saying once we get rolled tomorrow, Ponting will have the honour of the most Ashes losses by an Australian Captain?

1 win, 3 losses. I reckon you're right, Hank.

Where is Max Kruger when you need him.

So are we having a day of drinking at the cricket tomorrow? might be good, some quick drinks before we get bowled out then head to the London! and talk footy tactics.

Why waste energy and drinking money GH and just head straight to the London...

Even when it was swinging, he was very ineffectual. He lacks a yard I think.

But now I'm just being churlish - the whole side, nay the whole organisation, with a couple of exceptions, has performed woefully.

This is the most pathetic test loss I can remember. Embarrassing just scratches the surface of the pure shame present here.

But of course cricket is not dead. Just see what is happening in South Africa.

Can I raise the spectre of betting on Cricket matches?

Where does one start.

Mitch Johnson. This guy's best ball is the one pitched on off stump and swings into the batters' pads. So, what does our illustrious Captain do? Set a 7 – 2 field that forces Johnson to bowl outside the off stump. Give Johnson protection on the leg side and he can then concentrate on his best ball and give him the chance to once again become a dominant bowler.

Are our batters (an oxymoron?) being coached to nail their back leg to the pitch. It looks as though that is so because it never moves. Moving the back leg across the stumps for cut shots and moving it behind the ball in defence is a fundamental.

Where are our batters taking block?

The MCG is a big ground yet our batters cannot find the gaps. It used to be that the big difference between a Sheffield player and a Test player was the ability of the Test player to find the gaps.

In extreme humidity, anyone can bowl bananas, except Schishenhause.

Oh well, there is always next century; years that is.

I know we are in total disarray at the moment, but you have to feel sorry for Hughes, run out when he was looking like he may have actually hit his way into some form.

Watson showed once again he is a solid batsman, good at churning out 50s.

I cannot remember such disparity in an Ashes series, our bowlers have no penetration, its bordering on embarrassing. And our batsmen...when you look at the side from a few years back there was a confidence that one of the top 7 would hit a 100+, they were all capable of it, now i would say we are doing well if one can hit 30.

Time for a purge.
Punter should send his baggy green off to the drycleaners.
Clarke should become a great captain - of NSW.
Shameless or Cam White should be made captain.
Haddin up the order to open, if we are going to lose at least we should see some fireworks, Wade in as keeper.

Here is a side that might even make 300..

Hughes
Haddin
Khawaja
Hussey
Watson
White (C)
Wade
Smith
Johnson
Siddle
McKay

The bowling may be like attacking an armada with a pea shooter - but whats new.

Besides our bowlers having no sting , our batsmen cannot play swing bowling. It amazed me yesterday how much the english bowlers moved the ball compared to our guys. The thing which frustrated me was our batsmen poking at deliveries outside the off-stump. They don't let the ball hit the bat, they go chasing after the ball, "IT IS NOT HOW YOU PLAY SWING BOWLING LADS"

The sounds of the Bugle are sounding for the Australian Cricket team.
