It's incredibly easy to talk the talk for something unlikely to happen.

Would be interesting to see if he had to sign the contract in front of him that was 50k a year less for the remainder of his career and if he'd actually do it.

Players won't be doing that. I probably wouldn't either. And to be honest they shouldn't have to. It's the Governing bodies role to reduce that.
