Is Egan Gone?

You guys who are calling for his head are pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. You have such short memories- that is probably because you brain goes into overdrive whenever it has to interpret more information than it is used to in your day to day lives.

The kid is in his 3rd year this year and cannot do anything this year because of injury.

So in effect if you are calling for his head, you are doing so based on his performances at the end of 06.

If you want to look back, he was in our top 5 players in the last 8 or so games of last year. He showed enormous potential and had great impact on games.

I recall a lot of you calling for Travis Cloke's head as well. That has since stopped.

It really frustrates me that people call for someone like Egan to be delisted when the kid has obvious talent and who will be an extremely important player for us. You should all stick to your keyboards, because that is what you do best as it seems. Thank God Mick and co will not be listening to you at the end of the year.

Absolutely no chance that he is going anywhere. And rightly so.
 
One obvious delistment is Davies. Another should be Toovey, but who knows if he will be or not. Bryan is another if their is competition for spots. Wakelin might retire. I think we need to delist one more, in which case you'd have to say Iles may be the unlucky one.

It really though is a dilemma we will be facing considering the amount of kids on our list and who we have to delist.

Probably a better than dilemma than having 10 candidates for delisting I guess.

OK then mate - since we are all so stupid - who are the 5 or so who are going to go at the end of the year?

Wakes - probbaly but who knows! Yes Ben Davies is gone! Iles - has shown a lot more talent to Egan THIS YEAR (and that is before Egan was injured - remember he did play almost half the season before being inured), but if we need to get rid of people would prefer him to go then some of the others, Bryan - that would be a great move leave us with 2 rucks and maybe a 3rd youngester we pick up in the draft - you do not pick up Cox's and Sandiland quality of ruck in the draft - Bryan will be there next year! Toovey - I would prefer him on the list then Egan - at least he has a go and puts in 110% and plays for the team! MM is all about playing for each other and playing for the team - Egan is the one guy on our list who does not do this! Wath him at Willy some time, i did a few times this year - he is selfish!

I am judging Egan on his first half of this year, not last year and not because he is injured or has potential or was a top 10 pick!

My argument is that yes he may have potential, yes he might have played OK last year, - but his attitude stinks and we have better players on our list - but since you seem to know it all, I will just stick to tapping away at my keyboard since that is all I am good at!

And Cloke - I guess one or two people called for his head, some people still are because of his kicking - but the majority of people knew he would be a star - but he is a KPP player - takes longer to develope! Smaller players should be raring to go by there 3rd season - Egan is gone - mark my words he will not be at the club next year!

Dunno. I just have a gut feeling that he's gonna be a gun if given the chance. Same with Anthony.
 
I hear you, but yikes, we've got to delist somebody!

Maybe Wellingham and (gulp) Clarke won't get permanent promotions to the senior list!

41. Wellingham - may be promoted
43. Clarke - probably be promoted
44. Nicholls - probably won't be retained (I don't mind him and I think his AFL game doesn't really mirror his afl potential) - remember he has to be promoted because it's his 2nd year
45. Macaffer - will probably be retained but still a small chance of being cut (although it's very rare for a 1st year rookie).

So there will be 2 promotions at most I think. At least 1 you'd think.

I think this year will be a very small turnover year. We may well see only 4 spaces on our list left open. We may do something like trade two players to land a player which will also obviously leave us with 1 more spot. We need more time to asses the likes of Cook, Iles, Stanley and Toovey.

When I read that Toovey has more talent than Egan, I stopped reading and dismissed any credibility that you may have had.

Well maybe you should read it again then and tell me where I said that - I said that Toovey plays more for the team , I said that Iles had shown more talent this Year!!!!

Sorry swap Iles for Toovey in what I said. Thank god you are not our list manager if you would keep Iles ahead of Egan based on the talent they have.

Toovey has been a better player THIS YEAR! YOu relaly do struggle to read! Serioulsy are you telling me that Egan has been better then Toovey this year?

Yes I am. Egan played one game which I thought better than all of Toovey's. Toovey is a disgrace to the Collingwood jumper. And what has this year got to do with anything, list management is about the future and Egan has shown he will be 10000000000000 times the player Toovey is.

The Bushranger..........at the risk of being preachy can I ask that you please use your words more wisely.

You don't like Toovey....fine.

Calling him a disgrace to the jumper is completely uncalled for. If he were not to give 100% on the field, if he was to disrespect himself, the club or his team mates......then maybe.

But not having polished skills is hardly disgracing a jumper.
