Can't see him going on after this year. Unfortunately, it seems his time is up due to injury and his age not helping. That said, if he can get back on the park this year and play a few games, anything can happen and we may give him another year. But we need to make list cuts and apart from Karpany, there aren't that many obvious candidates that are out of contract.

YEAH! Barras is such a good marker!!!

Cos no worries about the goals he leaks against Buddy, Jack and Dixon.

Marking is better then defending :expressionless:

Like when Mackenzie stopped Dixon in the elimination final last season?

Great forwards will kick goals on their day against any opponent in todays football with the right supply, especially Buddy. Mackenzie is the better one on one defender but Barrass's one on one defending is not as bad as everyone says it is. Barrass is easily the better mark and kick of the two.

Definitely a better mark and better on the left but he has no right.Mckenzie can kick on the left.Mckenzie is definitely a better body on body player.Barass's lack of body contact when spoiling is one of my pet peeves.

I remember when this guy was probably our third most important player alongside JK and NicNat. It sucks that his peak years were ruined by injury.

Gotta keep him surely. People forget how good he was.
I don't think we do. I actually think there is so much goodwill that if he wanted to leave for greater opportunity elsewhere, everyone would wish him well.

I mean, would he be a better option than Lynden Dunn for Collingwood? If fit, almost certainly. Could he hold down a spot at Carlton while Weitering develops? Again, almost certainly.

If he sees an opportunity to play another 50 games elsewhere, I'd say good luck to him.

depending on whether gaff or gov go I would say maybe Mutimer and I wouldn't be surprised to see Parto go as well.

Is he cooked? No.

Is he best 22? No as well.

Eric, like Schofield, is depth now. He shouldn't be in the team unless injuries hit us.

I would keep him on the list if we can.

Eric is a confidence player in every sense of the word, his struggles have always been between the ears. When you can get him playing confidently, he is an excellent defender of gorilla forwards and very, very hard to beat one on one. And when he isn't, he messes up simply field kicks and looks hopeless. I have bagged him over the last couple of years as much as anyone, but at the same time, he saved the game for us in an act of brilliance in the elimination final last year. Guys like Karpanny and Mutimer are dead weight, but quality talls dont grow on trees.

I would try to get him full fit for the remainder of this year and give him one more year on the list to see what he can do next season.

Id love to see him in against Sydney. Reckon he would do a better job on Bud.
That said I think his future depends on if Gov re- signs or not.
Top 3 full backs in the comp if he can stay on the park.

I dunno, he been emBarrass'd quite a few times this season. He really isn't very good negating - Schoey did a much better job when he came in, and IMHO having one of Shooter/Barrass and one of Schoey/EMac is the best balance.
