Sure, but that is ancient history. He didn't live up to that, Sydney got rid of him, Geelong got him for cheap.

I just find it strange is all. He had one really really good season at Geelong and since then has done decent throughout the season but nothing crazy. So why this crazy expectation on this one player? There are probably a heap of players who don't perform well in finals. Heck, you could probably throw half of Brisbanes list in that category, and a lot of them would be paid far more than Rohan. I would understand if it was a million dollar player who looked like his moneys worth in the season but s**t the bed in finals, that I understand. But Rohan? Eh.
Exactly.

Lions since 2019 have now played in 7 finals and won 2. There’d have to be some absolute duds in that group failing to perform.

Daniher? Zorko? Andrews?

We get it, you don’t rate mark Blicavs. Numerically his finals record is almost identical to his home and away record in every single department.

And yes that includes the fabled Blicavs brain melt/Clanger that he has from time to time

He still found a way to have some sort of impact on Saturday. He had a couple of very important touches and made one of the most important spoils of the match when the pies were seemingly away down the left wing and he came from nowhere with a desperate leap to effect the spoil and put it out of bounds.

I don’t think his level drops off as a rule in finals nearly as much as you think it does
his stats are noticably down in finals then home and away even though he has played a much greater proportion of his finals in the middle then in home and away. But more importantly Blicavs opponent has been arguably best on ground in atleast 5 finals. Thats insane. Do you think that matches his home and away output?

on top he has never played a good final where you could say he was in the best 4 players for our club. Not once.

He's no Garry Rohan, but Isaac Heeney's had an absolutely garbage finals series. Nothing like the player he shows in H & A.
If we're judging players on grand finals alone, Luke Parker... talk to me about Luke Parker.

One thing you can't have a crack about is his consistency.

FWIW, I've never quite understood the Heeney love.

I mean, the way he's spoken about in the media you'd think he's in the top 10 players of all time.

But it just seems that for whatever reason, I've never seen him do much.

His career will go one of two ways now.
He remains this exceptional forward/midfielder who gathers the ball 16-17 times and kicks 2 goals per game, or he takes his game to the next level and does what Dustin Martin did in his late 20's.

To be fair you'd struggle to fill out the bests for Sydney today - Warner and ... um ... ah ...
