Edit: If you really want to know what a travesty this decision by the umpires was, you only have to look at one thing - the bunch of incompetents he beat. The Brownlow has become a farce. Why should anybody have any regard for the ability of someone who's only claim to fame was that they shared a medal with Buckley and Ricciutto, then beat West, Judd and Kerr for another medal. Mark my words, none of these names will live in anybody's memory.

As good a player as Adam Goodes is, one does suspect he tends to attract a lot of votes because he is the only player at the Swans whose name doesnt immedeatly bring to mind words like, dour/workman like/plodder/honest battler/trier etc etc.

Its akin to having Cameron Ling winning Australia's sexiest man of the year, when the only competition is a bunch of blokes whose Mums took Thelidomide.

And who cares if Goodes is a good bloke and does community work off the paddock. The Brownlow isnt Miss Universe FFS.

Having said all that its probably poor form, to have a go at a bloke minutes after he won a Brownlow. Ill be on my way...

you have a point, but you could also argue goodes being so far ahead of his fellow swans means he sort of carries his team and without him they would probably not be in a grand final, wheras kerr,judd or cousins for example would be not as sorely missed as goodes would be.

I think he got lucky a few years ago in the three way tie with Roo and Buckley but he definately deserves this one.

He has changed the game forever. Winning two brownlows and each of them from different posistions. What 195cm bloke is able to play in the ruck and then convert himself into an unstoppable running midfield player. He is truely a great player of this era, and seems a nice bloke to boot. GOod on him

If you want to see the ultimate example of a single player winning a final off his own boot have a look at the 2003 QF against Port at AAMI. Breathtaking display of brilliant footy.
