Wrestling wouldnt be what it is today without Hulk Hogan.
Substitute the words "Hulk Hogan" for "Vince McMahon" and that statement is true.
Do you honestly think that if Vince hadn't taken the WWF national and made it accessible entertainment for the geneal public that Hogan would have been big? If the WWF remained a regional company in the North-East of America (as it was in the early 80's) then Hogan would be no more than a big wreslter in a small promotion.
Hogan was the company's bigest star, but if it wasn't for the business people that took the WWF national, Hogan would be nothing.

The man almost single handedly turned wrestling into one of the most exciting sports in the world.
Wrong. Vince McMahon was the one who did that. Hogan was simply the company's biggest star, during the time that the WWF became a well known company. Hogan didn't make it exciting himself. He had a lot of help from the script-writers who made him a superhero, and Vince McMahon who took the company national.
Also, if you watch Hogan'e matches, his opponents (most of whom were better at technical wresling) carried the matches. Hogan was the biggest star, but he was so famous because he happened to be the biggest star during a period where the WWF changed into a national company.
The creative team behind the WWF, and the storylines and culture they instill in the company and it's wrestlers will always be the main reason behind the success of the company. Wrestlers need to have talent, but once the wreslters are with the company, it's what the creative teams does with them that is the important thing.

Hulk Hogan is bigger tahn wrestling, he always was and always will be.
What???? Bigger than wreslting? Hahaha. Ummmm, I don't think so Jod.
If he was bigger than wreslting, please tell me why the WWF made more money, achived highet PPV buy rates, and sold more merchandise in the late 90's without him? Hogan had been gone from the WWF for 8 years and the WWF was fine without him.I'm not disputing he was a big star. He was the biggest at the time. But the WWF became huge in the late 90's because the creative team instilled the new "Attitude" culture in it's company. Gone were the cartoonish 80's charcaters like Hulk Hogan, and in came characters with more depth. We now see bad guy vs bad guy matches, more complicated stoylines, and more interesting characters. The WWF moved with the times, as did Hogan himself when he became bad guy for WCW.
If Hogan was bigger than wrestling, then why did the WWF outrate WCW a few years ago, when Hogan was with WCW? If Hogan was bigger than wrestling wouldn't everyone be watching him? The WWF outrated WCW because they moved with the tiems, instilled a new "Attitude" philosophy, and made the wreslters adhere to this new philosophy.
Hogan was never as big with WCW as he was with the WWF, because the WWF knew how to use him better.
