I'm new to this forum, so perhaps this has been discussed before...my apologies if this is the case. Anyway...

Is it just me, or do other Dees supporters feel that Chris Lamb has copped some rough treatment at Melbourne?

Chris played 18 games between 1999-2002 after making his debut, and also won the award for Most Improved Player in 2002. Since then we have seen very little him. What has Daniher got against him? Is Alistair Nicholson really a better option? Sure, Nicho is taller...but he is slower and older. I also reckon that Chris' 2002 award suggests that he is more likely to continue 'improving'. But, according to the last Melbourne Magazine for 2004, poor Lamby has been delisted (though the Dee's website does not reflect this change). Why? What gives? Surely you can always find use for a hard-working tall defender...

What do you guys think?

If Ryan Ferguson had never come along Lamb would still be in the side but the MFC rates Ferguson over Lamb to replace Nicholson and there was simply no room in the seniors lineup for him.

I would have thought we could use all the tall defenders we could muster...especially now that Troy is gone. :(

I think Chris Lambis ****.

Therefore I have no problem with his delisting. He was one of the most overrated MFC players (in terms of Melbourne supporters).

Chris Lamb overrated?!? What about Nicho? How does he manage to score a spot in the team week in week out, without any qualms from Daniher?

Clearly the views I have expressed regarding Lamby are in the minority here...I can cop that. But tell me then, what do you all think of Nicholson?

Nicho may be very average but he is still a far better option than Lamb.

Lamb was only productive in 2002 when he had someone playing just infront for him double teaming the full forward.

Ever since then Lamb continued to get shown up one on one.

In the fair few Sandy games I saw this year Lamb appeared to be not upto scratch for an AFL footballer as he was only an average VFL player.

Melbourne made the right decision in delisting Lamb.

Now we just have to develop Fegruson or Newton into a decent FB.

Alright, alright! As I said earlier, I see now that I am in the minority regarding Lamby...forget I said anything! The last thing I wanted to do was sparked a tirade of Lamby bashing...enough already!

You know monkey_man, the illiterate tosser who first brought that up has subsequently been banned...you want to watch yourself, buddy.
Btw, do you actually have anything intelligent to add to this discussion?
Or do you prefer to just dump crap on everyone else in some misguided effort to make yourself feel superior?

Pah, I agree with the original post. You can't tell me he wouldn't have been a better option at FB for half of this year. He was shafted hard.
