All getting along I see.

Warm evening here in Melbourne.

I dont think closing their mouth would solve the problem of snoring....Best outcome is to take ear plugs next time, These kind of situation where people end up getting stabbed for trying to tell people how to sleep.lol

So last night i was on an overnight bus from Adelaide to Melbourne. The bus left at 8:15pm and was due to arrive at 6:30am. I was sitting next to an old fella who was like a statue, hardly moved for the entirety of the trip. :thumbsu: It was behind me where I was having a problem.

The 2 people behind me were women in their early 20's and were both obese smokers. Starting at about 9pm and lasting for pretty much the rest of the trip one of them started snoring and snoring loud. After about 30mins of it I looked around and noticed people were getting annoyed. I even heard he person sitting across the isle from me say to herself "Oh shut the **** up!".

Now knowing that a lot of people around me were getting annoying and that their friend had completely ignored the fact she was snoring, is it rude to take matters into my own hand, wake up the snorer and tell them to close their mouth when they sleep? Take into account the fact that they've got their friend sitting next to them who SHOULD be the person doing it.
Id wake her ..................if she is keeping me awake, Im keeping her awake.

lol re-name this to the UMAD thread everyones mad.

honestly though if she looked scummy i would have done somehing about it if not probz would just deal with it unless i was in a god allmighty mood.
it is true though if you are the friend of said snorer at least acknowledge the fact that they are snoring.

This thread seems to be drifting away from the question i was asking. IS IT RUDE TO WAKE SOMEONE AND INFORM THEM THEY WERE SNORING AND SNORING EXTREMELY LOUDLY?

  • I had noise cancelling earphones in and yet she was still virtually drowning out the music,
  • She had a friend next to her who was awake (i saw her change the air conditioning vent in my periphery) and chose to do nothing about her friend snoring, and
  • People around were also visually annoyed and angry.
I understand snoring happens and can't be controlled, although some things can be done to help prevent it or lessen the chances of it happening. I think, in hindsight of beginning this thread, i'm probably more annoyed at the fact the friend chose to do nothing and kept her friend snoring and annoying all the passengers around her.

I think if I was in that situation, I would have first said something to the friend to try and get them to deal with things; and then if they couldn't or wouldn't do anything about the snorer and the fact they were disturbing other passengers, I would have felt well within my rights to take matters into my own hands.
