OK, I can probably name several more players that trained with us over a pre-season and went on to be drafted by another club but I'm not sure that we should be claiming them in anyway as the one that got away.
One that recently springs to mind is Steven Milne.
He trained with us hoping to get on the rookie list.

If I remember correctly I think it was Dogboy who first claimed Nathan Thompson was somehow at the club although a number of others also have made that claim.

I will speak to a couple of Doggie supporters that I know on Saturday and see if they remember him

I have been one to mention Thompson having been with us.

Not even sure where i heard it, may have been in the media at some point.

May well be that he played some ressies games with us in a pre season before the Hawks stuck him on their supp list for the season proper.

BTW, it is definately not a case of confusing the two thompson's.

We might have to re-name him Nessie, plenty have heard about him being at the club but no one has actually seen him :)

Just add my 2 cent.
Definetely remember 2 t(h)ompsons with different spelling playing ressies and on the Footy Records at Whitten Oval around 95/96
