Don’t get me wrong I like Rodney and think he is a good coach ,BUT I cant help wondering if we take the saints as an example and bite the bullet and give a new young coach a go? How can a coach put a player like Dylan Addisson as full forward I just don’t understand the logic in that.

I agree but unfortunately it wont happen, he will sign a new contract and hopefully he can come up with a plan B and recruit a good key forward like I don't know BARRY HALL

I've been banging on about this for the last 3 years. I still think Rodney should leave, the team is still breaking peoples hearts. Nothing changes.

Yeah, but the heartbreak's been happening for longer than 3 years so you can't blame Rocket.

Addison is an example of either very poor team selection or no faith in our back ups.

Eade had the same issue earlier in the year, playing Hudson at CHF at times, Eagleton at full forward, Hill as a one out full forward doesnt work either

It is our lack of depth or coaching ?

What amazed me was the size of the eagles fowards compared to ours

They look Huge and we looked small

To me that is list management and he has been there long enough to be responsbile for that

Similar to 2006 when we were bent over by them, we were promising, they were huge, since then we have continued to have faith in inconsistant spuds like (the E word) and they have rebuilt and will go close in the next 3 years

OK you draft experts where was Wilson drafted and who did we draft before him ?

Then I guess we're doomed.

I thought I recognised you from somewhere. Keep up the quality work. I'm really enjoying your parody of a morbidly depressed Bulldogs supporter.

What a quick lot of jumpers we have.!! Last year we won all the close ones finished well but still had a way to go.

This year the boys are all bigger and stronger (in response to the comment about differences in size) but perhaps just don't have the sheer size of other teams (and don't we know it.)

I believe Eade makes good decisions overall, Addison at FF ? Was it a rotation ? An attempt to see what he could offer ? Addison certainly has a red hot go.

Perhaps, just perhaps teams are a lot closer than we believe. That losing 3 of our most skilled forwards, kicking 11 behinds before scoring a goal and watching the weagles miss NOTHING simply translates into a loss.:(

Or maybe the coach and match committee made drastic errors...which translates into a loss to a bottom side with nothing to play for, as opposed to us with everything to play for on our home ground.

Addison was hopeless last week playing in the forward line, why was it going to be any different this week?? What did we learn from the Freo game??

Why do we persist with Minson up forward who has been a clear failure???

Why do we play Williams, Eagleton, Everitt and Addision ahead of better performing Willi players like Reid, O'Keefe, Skipper and Callan??

It's not so much the loss, but the complete ineptitude on field. Last week we won, but I rate that equally as bad as today.

Eade has become stubborn and stale

Agreed. It's like turning up to the Melbourne Cup, only to see Chihuahua's running around the track.

Blood Chris Grant as next coach of the Western Bulldogs. That, or convince Hirdy to do it.

I don't think Eade putting Addison at FF for a portion of the game today was the reason we lost. Nor do I think dropping Eagleton, Addison or anyone else, and replacing them with Skipper, O'Keefe or Callan. It was our application and unwillingness to run both ways that cost us, and an inability to move the ball forward with considered disposal instead of just bombing it. The stench of players being lazy, making poor decisions and wasting the football was clear for all to get a whiff.

Having said that, it's clear our team has issues with being mentally ready for games they should win, and those that are a challenge for them to gain credibility amongst the competitions best sides. If I was going to question Eade on anything, it is his ability to get the group ready to perform in games consistently for the entire four quarters.

It's hard to comment when not on the inside, but to me we look like a side that doesn't have anybody that can take charge on the field and demand good performances from their troops. That makes Eade's role in doing this more important.

I recall earlier in the year when we were all impressed with our new found depth, a time when players seemed to play knowing their were others on their coat tails ready to jump into their spot.

Eade's unwillingness to place fear into the players to retain their spot is to our detriment. As I've asked in another thread, when was the last time a player was dropped.

We're like a mob family, once you're in, the only way out are concrete shoes!

Addison should be in trouble then;)

When you're missing Higgens, Gia, Welsh and Murph, and you have Stack, Everitt, Addison, Williams and Ward in your side, do you think dropping Eagleton and Hahn for Callan, O'keefe, Ried or Skipper is a good idea?

We were vulnerable today - not saying we shouldn't have won - but adding more inexperienced players to the side today wouldn't have been a good idea.

I do... It would say "I'm not taking you dishing up this crap anymore!"

You're example with our current injuries is valid, but this has been an issue throughout Eade's tenure.

Yeah it might. But what good is that if you're in a situation when you need to win games? What is the point of making a bold statement when you're going to be a greater chance of losing a game if you do? Crap situation to be in as a coach. You want to bust balls, but you also need to win games.
