I'd say Eagles are overrated and Bombers are underrated. It's not too early though and if anything you should probably raise your expectations higher. Finals are a given at this point and from there the sky's the limit.

meh the bowls club did Essendon a favour by kicking them out. the training facilities at windy hill were poor compared to the rest of the comp and now we have one of the best in the league.

Nope - 97 they had two home finals and were the nominated 'home' team for the GF too.
98 they lost their first final, then won the next 3 (and were the 'home' team for the GF).

The GF was in Melbourne. Sydney had to travel down, as the higher finishing team to "host" their opponents who are based just 10kms away from the stadium.
