As in massively overrated for what it has achieved.

People keep talking about it as if it could be a great horse, a future contender to Weekend Hussler, when in reality it has achieved nothing to suggest it will be anything more than a horse which wins a few weak group races. Very similar to Haradasun.

Light Fantastic has won one group one race, a race in which it only won because the best horse in the field (Marching) couldn't get a clear run, and even then it still almost won.

It then managed to beat a clearly injured Weekend Hussler, and since then has done nothing of note.

The similarities to Haradasun and Miss Finland are staggering, people were suggesting that Haradasun could be the horse to take down the champ, yet everytime he came up against her he pretty much failed.

So i ask is Light Fantastic the new over hyped white elephant of Australian racing?

Which champ is that?
The champion 3yo filly who beat up on the same 3yo's then got gradually slower, continually failing against Open Gp 1 due to exhaustion?

Or Haradasun the multiple Gp 1 open winner in dual hemispheres?

As for LF,doesnt look like he gets a solid mile for mine

i think you will find ronald, that the horse has been diagnosed with gastric ulcers!!

that is the reason for his poor performance in his last couple of runs!!

for people who dont know what gastric ulcers are, it is a condition where ulcers form in the stomach of the horse, causing pain to the horse, with them often feeling ill, and a reluctance to eat there food

it is caused by a lack of grasses and legumes in there diet!! this is why it is a major problem with city trained horses, as they hardly see any grass!!

as for your question ron, i think its a bit rough, and i dont agree with you

Haradasun was a seriously good race horse..

Wouldve been at his peak if he'd of came back this prep
instead of being sent to stud, never really got a chance
to grow into his own body..

Light Fantastic is finished, book mark it, he is done and dusted..

I said after his first loss I had a suspicion he might be an Apache Cat type who snuck a mile but is better up to 1400. There is clearly something wrong with him though - think he will return to form in autumn. Ps Harada went out a winner, MF a battler

Yes she was a champion, a far superior horse to Haradasun. Look at teh facts, Haradasun never won a race that Miss Finland was in, he just wasn't good enough. He never won a group one race in Melbourne, he just wasn't good enough. No wonder he had to go to England to win a race, using dodgy tactics that are not allowed here. He just isn't good enough to beat quality fields unless he has massive help.

To suggest Haradasun is even in the same sphere as Miss Finland when it comes to racing is obscene, not half the horse she is.

As for Light Fantastic, i see the excuses running thick and fast, but the fact is he got lucky in a group one, but wont get that again. Will never win a group one again, unless he goes to England and gets a cheap win using dodgy tactics, just like the horse i am comparing him to.

Yep,champion 2 & 3yo filly
As an older horse her record reads:

8 tries at Gp 1 for no wins
Unplaced at 5 of her last 6 starts
1 Gp 2 win

She never ran time which is why she had no hope of being a champion older mare.
A precocious filly who deserved better but greed gets to most people, even the ones who have the least need for the $$$$.

Haradasun was also never a 2/3 yo filly
They raced together i think six times, in which Miss Finland finished ahead in four of those, and two of those races she won. A far superior horse she was.

Guess what? Haradasun never won a race in which Miss Finland raced in. Why? Just not good enough.

So Miss Finland supporters are now hanging their hat on her beating Haradasun home H2H in races.
Good to cling on to something i spose. :thumbsu:
