Is MCG now the ground where we play our best Footy

Seems like after the groundbreaking win over Collingwood in RD 15 2001 at MCG we play our best footy at MCG in big games including two incredible grand final wins & most recently last week with our season in the balance.

A big turnaround from our much publicised media reputation until mid 2001 that we were just home ground bullies.

For Melbourne based supporters - no doubt. It is our stage now. We play the ground well and can contain the opposition as well as score. The fact that it is exposed to the elements and therefore the play is more physical does assist the present squad. We just can't seem to do that at Docklands and can get killed on the rebound - and everyone gets injured ! If we had played the Saints and Bombers there, I reckon we'd have got up. Have the Saints won there recently ? Their style is evolving to suit those perfect conditions and seem frail out in the real world.

It's also neutral territory in Vic. and, when the stands are finished is going to be awesome. More games there I say.

I prefer the MCG than Docklands. Its strange really. We could win at Docklands well in 2000, 2001 we played there well, then when we started being able to win games at the MCG, we stopped winning them at Docklands.

No doubt about it that we would have beaten St.Kilda and Essendon if those games were at the MCG. In the future, I would like to see 4 games at the MCG, then 2 or 3 at one of the other venues.
