When Pearce took over he seemed like a safe, stop-gap option until either Brayshaw or Serong were old enough to take over.

But he has really shown his leadership strengths over the last 2-3 years and truly deserves the title.

Since then Brayshaw & Serong has continued to grow and in the past year Treacy has emerged as a real contender to leapfrog Brayshaw & Serong into the captaincy when Pearce decides to hand it over.
