after reading many of the posts around lately it seems as if many people believe Ottens will be heading away from Tigerland next year? Just wondering why some many people believe this, has something happened between him and the club?
This would be a tragedy for the footy club if we are to lose him as i believe he will genuinely be a star and dominant player of the future! we should try to keep him at all costs

Wouldnt be surpised if he did leave actually. Port may need another big man now seeing Primus is out for the season - maybe career.

Adelaide need a genuine Full Forward/Ruckman. He will be hot at trade time if he doesnt re-sign.

A reliable source that i know of close to the Adelaide Crows of all clubs says that many believe the time may be right for Andrew McLeod to be traded with an eye to the future. He isn't the happiest of campers apparently and they dont know how much better he is going to get and obviously need to do something aggressive to improve an ageing list.

Not for a minute suggesting they are chasing Otto (yet) but would you guys take that trade if it came about?

I Wouldn't trade Ottens for McLeod. Richmond have never realy had a dominating ruckman such as Ottens. To lose him, before he has even peaked will tear the club to shreds. We have no-one else to replace him if he was to go.

I am sure the Tigers will do everything in their power to retain him.

i would blame that imbecile Frawley and any-one who supported him.
Why should a young champion be subjected to such bull ****
when he can be a star else-where.

McLeod for Ottens....I hope not. McLeod is a gun footballer but he's got to be approaching his 30's. Ottens is ready to blossom after 4 odd years in the system whilst McLeod would be seeing out his career.

We do not want to lose Ottens but who could blame him if he wanted to leave.

2 things will be a factor

1. How much money are the clubs wanting him going to throw at him, because at Richmond we couldnt afford to pay him more

2. Of the teams chasing him, are they finals contenders, because that is something I'm sure he would be seeking highly.

I sure hope he stays but seriously cant see it thanks to Frawley

I think the only thing that could possibly make him stay and that is sign a coach who wil give Ottens the confidence to stay

Who can blame otto, who can blame anyone for wanting to leave, the team is playing crap, we cant blame richo if the instruction from de boss (the stkilda reject coach) is to retain possesion and kick the ball sideways, i watched Rich v North circa 1973 and guees what we kicked long, its not the richmond style to finnese the ball and when you have two good talls just kick it long like we did against the mguires

we must hold onto coghan and ottens. but hen again i said that about Gasper and all he is doing now is hlding out his hand for the big pay check he is getting. whatever happened to playing for the club and a little bit more if youa re good enough. If they want the big bucks ahead of getting good money and playing hard footy then show em the door.

Its not an issue of money. Whether Ottens stays or goes, any club is going to have to pay him top dollar. And I'm sure we will, given that we wanted to pay a lesser player like Solomon big bucks.

Its not about whether another club will pay him more. Its got to do with him not seeing finals at Richmond. Unless a new coach comes in next year that gives credibility to us playing finals regularly, he'll be off. And I think its further West than Adelaide as his girlfriend is from Perth. My ears hear Eagles.

Its not just the supporters that are pi$$ed about us not being a finals team. Its also some of the players. Especially those that could walk into a finals team tomorrow. And Ottens is one of the few players we have that can do that.

I would not trade him for anyone else in the AFL. If the RFC administration dont settle Frawley's replacement soon with the best available coach for next year, you wont be seeing Ottens in Richmond colors next year. And if we lose Ottens, I will not be buying a 2005 membership
