Is our footy culture too critical of little things that don't matter ?

Case in point:

It’s an article about how Kane Cornes - who nobody really listens to - is unhappy with the winners of 2 Awards that really don’t matter (MOTY & GOTY).

There is no ‘story’ here. Seriously, * off.

Are we micro manages, micro critics, negative Nancy's, nitpickers, stat counters, easily offended by remarks? are we too precious about footy, what are your thoughts?
We live in a world where everyone has an opinion on everything, and now the opportunity to share it or hear other opinions so easily via social media and the internet. Because of this, we are so involved, the average person has a view on just about anything and everything going on in the world whether it be niche topics or topics that effect us all like COVID-19.

This extends to footy, the world overanalyzes and critiques everything, and now just about anyone can get involved, even if you have no experience or credibility on an issue, I could share my views anyone in a split second across the globe.

Also, people are generally wired to be more negative than positive. We critique rather than praise, we complain rather than accept, this is a psychological wiring of people.

We are conditioned to be negative. Years of wars etc... Habits get passed down. If we lived in tranquillity for generations we would be different.

Not just these guys - it’s driven by ex-player Fox Footy/SEN types too that constantly fill the ‘news’ with ‘hot takes’ and their ‘important’ opinions...

“Melbourne Legend Slams the Dees” - oh look Garry Lyon said something about nothing.
”Bombers legend....blah blah blah” - it’s Matthew Lloyd...

Rohan Connelly wrote an article about it a few months ago, it’s basically a select group of talking heads generating their own ‘news’ and reprinting/regurgitating what each other say. 😅

Most overanalyzed sport in the world. It's really not a complicated sport. But we have all these coaches and statisticians and list management departments. All of whom need more and more funding so the list manager can spot 1 guy from Ireland or USA colleges when they can't even get a ******* Sydney kid to play the sport, to get a statistician tell us that he got the 3rd most meters gained in a trial and the assistant coach to tell us how he can guard a piece of grass well when instructed to do so.

And of course come a pandemic they're all disposable.

And then the talking heads can talk over and over about how big these things all are.
