Being more direct with the footy and chipping it sideways would be a good start. But then again our coach seems to think playing that way works so what would I know.

Just work out a way to get everyone the **** outta his way

We must be able to find a way to get him the space he needs. He'll outmark just about anybody.

Chappy and Howlett crumbling

Ambrose leading high to the wing.

The most significant thing about that video is that when there was space the ball movement was aggressive he got separation on Morris.

He's not quick but he is not as slow as we are making him look.

good to know im not that crazy. thought i was the only one who is confused about the game play. sideways chip kicking allowing the opposition to flood the back line. every other team seems to have quick ball movement:( FF even the demons are doing it now days

i wouldnt say its Dysfunctional, its a rather Young Forward line. an as i said Joe Daniher needs to get Stronger or he's an easy push over. he's got a Great Leap an a good Mark but thats it. Tom Bellchambers hasnt been Great either in the forward line either when he's around there

Step 1: forward line of Daniher (deep), Carlisle (deepish), Ambrose (high), Chappy (wherever) and Zaka/Cooney resting

Step 2: the ball has gotta move quickly!! We need to win it (Watson, Heppell, Myers, Hocking), get away from the contests with pace (Colyer, Zaka) and get it to them before 15 defenders run back

Step 3: get outta the way

Step 4: profit

Bad forward lines are seldom the fault of the forwards

I think the major problem with out forward line is we dont really have a CHF.
I dont think Carlisle is the answer, and Joe much better played at full forward.
I reckon it might be worth giving pears a shot here - hes been doing OK in the reserves at CHF.

Forward line could then look like;-

Zakka Pears Colyer
Chapman Daniher Fantasia/Langford

We need to go after a key position forward hard in the off season

I suppose it's the risk you run with doing these sorts of interviews (it's hard to tell the truth) but if he genuinely believes that is it then he is ****ed.

I've never hear one reference to the work rate of the midfielders and flankers being a problem. They cannot seriously be satisfied.

Hello darkness my old friend...

Chalk another one up, yeah we didn't use the ball as well as we could have, but 25 scoring shots is probably a better than average return for us (7.11 and 8 no scores and yes I was counting the no scores) and still nothing.

Not only that but given Geelong get basically all their drive from half back and Taylor spent the whole second half on his own this one was over before it even began.

been thinking about this
JD is a great mark, and will make a contest regardless. Reminds me of the role Cloke plays for Collingwood, though through different strengths. Both are as accurate as each other.
What Collingwood do is play off Cloke with hard running small forwards.
Elliot, Swan, Fasolo, Blair = rip most teams apart playing off Cloke.

When JD rests/rucks, let Carlisle/Hurley swing forward for a spell.
We just need to find the small forwards. they need pace. fantasia, colyer, edwards, ??
Not sure who else there is. Dalgleish is quick. Just play them. I doubt we'd score any less.

JD is nowhere as a consistent mark as Cloke.

WE hope he can reach that level
