always hard to say..... you would like to think so but that was a very weak melbourne side and is probably not a fair indication of the quality of teams in the competition. But you can only beat whats put in front of you and the hawks showed plenty in that game. We still shouldnt get too far ahead of ourselves though and i think this sat night will be a better indication of where we stand for the coming season as the lions will be pretty much at full strength just like us...........
Overall the signs so far have been that it just may be the year that the hawks come of age and become a finals force again.....lets hope so.

If we are lucky enough to beat brisbane and then play norf in the GF - North are desperate for the $125 grand for winning the ansett cup. Any team that can take that from them will know they have put in an honest days work
