Today's global self-inflicted, suicidal meltdown in response to this CoronaVirus is powered by the far more dangerous Politically Correct Cultural Virus.
This rampant misguided caring and virtue signally compassion has already destroyed the global economy. There is no knowing, right now, how bad this will get or how long it will take to recover. We are shutting down life.

Deaths from CoronaVirus are proportional with age. Exclude those who are over 50 years of age and who are suffering from serious pre-existing conditions and the stats reveal that for all other people this virus is akin to the normal flu. Therefore, the logical reasonable commonsense response should be age targeted not a universal global shut down.

The Politically Correct Culture has so cowered our politics that every politician in the Western World cannot survive without appearing to be compassionate. No matter how little sense that compassion might make.

The common sense response needs to be targeted. Restriction of visitors to nursing homes, old peoples homes. Pensioners should be advised to quarantine themselves in their homes. If need be meals on wheels could be provided to them. If you wanted to get drastic, Workers over 55 years of age could be sent home for the next month on reduced/subsidised pay.

There is no reason to shut everything down. As this response is unprecedented, we are playing with unintended consequences on an scale never before imagined. How many businesses will never recover from this? It is quite conceivable the global economy goes into a severe depression for 5 years.
