Ive heard several of the rumours, who know which are true & to what degree. But for rockliff the new regime has come at the right time.
Some of these issues date back ages & if the club knew and hasnt done anything about it that shows poor leadership, which is not surprising, if someone steps out of line you put them back in line, captain or otherwise

I think a line will be drawn in the sand. People make mistakes but it doesnt mean they have to define them for the rest of their lives. Hopefully he is capable of changing & helping the club turn itself around. Im pretty confident if he does the slightest thing wrong the new regime will have strong enough leadership to handle it not let it fester for years until it reaches crisis point

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

Thanks Rumsfeld!

Know all.

You need to calm down a bit there. I think sometimes you assume you know what is going on because of a contact, perception, inclination or whatever. The thing about a public forum is it's ok to be wrong or a little off. To be honest, a lot of what is said is simply not correct on this forum.
That doesn't really matter though does it?
The only ones that know are the ones inside the walls and the real details aren't generally going to be splurged all over a forum.
You get a bit defensive sometimes and you really don't have to because big footy is really a bit of fun isn't it?? Or am I way off?
Way off mate was responding to Skoob because he clearly wasn't understanding what I was trying to say and kept trying to pick an argument even though I agree with what he was saying for the most part. Tbh your post is completely off topic and have no idea why you quoted me besides going for cheap likes.

Also yeah it is a bit of fun like I have said i enjoy talking to the vast majority here and lets be honest you probably won't be around here for too much longer so if you wanna talk footy go for it I'll abide but shit like this? Pointless especially when its obvious all parties have moved on.

People wonder why I seem 'defensive' you lot always gotta have the last say don't you.

And thank god for that!

I'd question his on field stuff, for sure. Captains aren't just there to rack up cheap stats for Super Coach scores. It's their job to bring out passion, comradery, organisation, growth, loyalty in the blokes playing around him. You're supposed to make them better.

Thats what Hodge, Callan Ward, McVeigh do. Sad indictment is a bloke captained his club better from the stands with a knee reco for most of this year than Rocky did from ruck rover.

I took onboard what Hanley said being from a player inside our leadership group....that the trouble was from support of the group...

OUTGOING Brisbane Lions midfielder Pearce Hanley believes Tom Rockliff hasn't been given adequate support by the club during his captaincy. Rockliff had been unfairly treated by the Lions, and deserved more help from the club if he was to get the best out of himself.

Noble's follow-up. A brief insight to how another club operated shows how off the mark we are...

Reflecting on his experience at Adelaide, Noble recalls: "It wasn’t just about Tex (Walker). I think your captain is certainly your figure head but it’s also all the work that the duck does underneath the water, really, and the support mechanisms that the other guys provide."
“Scott Thompson, Rory Sloane, Richard Douglas, Sam Jacobs, they were all great leaders in their own right behind the scenes - it’s just you do need a figure head in our environment.
“Everyone has to be on the same page. It’s really important that you have your messaging clear, you’ve got some really clear strategies around where your football team is and the direction that it needs to take.

But but but you're not allowed to blame anyone else Rocky's torn the club apart from the inside out!!!

But in all seriousness the club has let down the players in so many aspects I'm not even surprised that this is another one. I did mention something similar about the lack of leadership support, but dare I say it I was shouted down :p:p

If you think I didn't understand, maybe it's the way you word things.
For the record, I understood exactly what you were trying to say, but it was just incredibly shortsighted and well, just wrong.

How to win friends and influence people right there.:thumbsu:

Maybe because you seem to need to attack anyone who disagrees with you.
That whole response to Robbo is pretty rude and offensive.
When posters start referring to "you lot" or "you all" maybe stop and consider that maybe the problem isn't everyone else, and take a look at your own comments and posting style.

Yes, I do often feel the need to have the last word. I suspect you will though.
