Does anyone else get the feeling that the Roo hamstring injury may be more serious than we are being led to believe.

I stress I have no inside information so I dont know. However, I do get nervous when a club starts to continually put back a players estimated recovery time from a hamstring injury. Over the past couple of years a number of great players of a similar age have been struck down with prolonged hamstring injuries, think Buckley, Harvey and our own Ben Hart.

Does anyone on this board have observations from training/inside info? I am a huge Roo fan and I think a prolonged loss of arguably our greatest player would really effect our chances for a flag (see first final against the saints last year).

We need to get used to the idea of him not playing.

For a bloke who takes & hands out as much physical punishment as he does, his ability up to now to stay fit has been quite remarkable.

It's his hamstring not the groin

Hamstrings usually take 3 weeks to heal and that time has not quite passed. I think he should be ok for Round 1, considering our match is 2 and 1/2 weeks away.

I hope he learns from it

Doesn't he just have the same problem that Benny Hart had in 2004?
No.

Benny had calcification in his hammy. A few chips of bone that were created by his tearing his hammy a few times by coming back early and then re-injurying it again...

Roo hamstring tendonitis. Basically an inflamation of hamstring tendon. 2 dufferent types of injuries.

I may be wrong but it may be more like Buckleys.

I think (and I do not know) that we may not see him for at least four or five more weeks at a minimum. :(

sure it would be great to have in on the field, but this is a great test for the team to play and win without him... im sure we have the depth to cover for roo... If we're playing great footy without him named for a few weeks and winning by great margins, them him finally coming back into the side is gonna rip a new one into the oppositions

dunno if ya get what i mean.... i had just got home from footy training and ive had a few beers
