OP clearly was not around in early 90's when Swans were genuinely in trouble. They actually brought about priority picks into being just to get them off the mat. They are so far from those desperate times it is not funny.

You cannot stay at the top forever. Sydney have been in the finals almost every single year for the last 20.
Brisbane were the next (same) Fitzroy 2 years ago and now they are playing key finals.
Swans will get a top 5 pick this year, soon enough they will snag another academy gun for SFA, they will pinch a few free agents and they will be back.
Having said that the Buddy contract was stupid at the time and it is a significant obstacle for them now.

I've seen that chart before and find it difficult to believe. There's little to no use having supporters if they don't financially support the club. The only stats that really matter are the membership stats. Advertising helps but in rugby loving Sydney that's not significant.
