Alright Dan how do you see it, the AFL has said no to a financial inducement for finishing on top after H&A, have you hoisted the white flag Dan?

There may be hope yet though with Sheedy and especially Pagan coming out in support of "the dream", Pagan says $250,000 would be appropropriate.

Did anyone happen to hear Robert Shaw on 3AW after the Freo game on Friday night. I've never heard a coach (or assistant) be so genuinely excited about the way a team is travelling, as he did, when interviewed. He of course rightly said they have achieved nothing unless they win the big one, but he was quite open about how wrapt they were with what the team had done so far. He also said Sheeds did talk up the 18 wins record.

It was really refreshing to hear, as I believe 18 wins is not something that should be glossed over. I just hope we can make it 19 this week and break the record. Thanks Rob and thanks 3AW. Had to laugh also the way R. Connolly goes on about Rama, he's his self appointed manager now. Hookesy said after the Shaw interview, Rohan has to leave us now he has to go give Rama a tonguey.

BOMBER BLITZ IN 2000!

Re Rohan Connolly. On Optus at the start of the year he said he wanted to have Mercuri's child!

Of course this does confirm what has been said about Bomber supporters for many years!

I think you will find in future yars (not this year) there wil be a finacial reward for the "home and away" premier.

Perhaps the AFL didn't budget for it. They can't just make an instantaneous decision to give away 250,000 dollars without any planning.

Regardless of whether the finals becomes a seperate knockout tournament, I think you will find in the next couple of years there will be a finacial inducement to the top team, regardless of the format of the finals.

Perhaps Essendons stellar season is convincing some people.

Perhaps there are some "higher-ups" in the AFL who are saying to themselves : "Gee, Essendon are clearly the best team. What if they don't win that one-off Grand Final match ? Gee we'd look pretty stupid if some other team stunned them on the day, and that team then took credit for the whole year"

It would give the home and away season, which comprises 95% of the season no credibility if that happened.

Perhaps that scenario, whuch would be scary for the AFL, is what will lead to the financial reward being given in the coming years.
