Is this 2014 repeating! !??

"Even Sydney"? That's the game we're least likely to win.

You can't see us beating Carlton, Essendon or Melbourne?

I can see us Beating Blues and Dons but not 100% vs Dees

Nope. Not after what we've seen the last 2 weeks.

You came in with the expectation today that we would get smashed...

Did you see Carlton on Friday night?

Hawthorn is going to do that to everyone from here on out.

It is Exacly the Same as 2014.

Start well then be the Worst team in the Comp in 2nd half.

We be lucky to win another games this year

This season has some similarities to last - injuries plus tiredness of young player combine for perfect storm. But I think we're in a better position than last season to move forward.

Out forward line next year will boast Moore and Cloke, a better combination than White.

We'll have a few guns coming through: Sharenberg (if he stays) De Goey, and (if he's fit) Freeman.

I think we'll get better in the next few weeks, just miss out on finals, but have a solid basis for next year. Next year, I expect us to make finals, and finish somewhere between 3-7 on the ladder.

Numeric wins versus loses maybe. With the players we lost last year versus the players coming in and team structures, on field coaching and will and confidence of the team to win (until yesterday),totally different to last year. Last year near the end, we struggled to field a side, being down to our 39th and 40th players (Gault, Armstrong). This year all three top draft picks are getting valuable games of footy in the AFL. Scharenberg is back from an ACL playing his first game of AFL. Varcoe has been the best pick up of any mature age recruit in the AFL. Crisp has surprised with his run and carry, going some of the way to compensate for losing Beams. Swan has returned to his best form. Until yesterday the side has been running the top teams down to the wire. When a young undersized team has a run of loses it eventually gets to you as happened yesterday. If we don't win another game for the year, we are still better than last year.

Agree with what you wrote except for the last sentence. If we lose next week to Carlton and then lose every other game we will have gone backwards in my opinion. I think our end to this year is crucial for our development and belief. We need to show something and bounce back to give us something to go into next year with. Development is relative to other teams like GWS, Saints, Bulldogs who have all leapfrogged us this year. Slow small incremental improvements like you're talking about will just make us a middle of the road make up the numbers side. Also, unlike last year we have no injury excuse for this kind of form slump. We are facing one of the worst losing streaks in the clubs history with basically our best team out there and we still have yet to beat a real good opponent this year.

I think there are more positives for 2015 and the negatives are much the same.

2015 positives are the development of the kids, the inclusions of Crisp and Varcoe.
2015 negatives are Reid and Freeman injuries.

We have undervalued the loss of Beams although this has been offset for 10 plus years with JDG and Crisp. We are a young team that is going to tire to the back end of a season. Wins and losses maybe the same but for us going forward we have got games into the kids. We will get so many benefits from 2015 in the years to come as we are getting games and experience into our talented kids.

As far as this year goes, I say we're worse this year than we were last year. Lucky we had a soft draw or we would've finished bottom 4 where we belong.

That was quite a Good Video and Makes a Good Point
Movie Clockwise. Mandatory for every control freak.
Compared to last year, results are similar. I am okay with the losses during a development year. This year we showed we have the potential to grow in something formidable . And we didn't when we could.

In terms of results it is a repeat, but generally I would say no, because circumstances are different. The last two weeks we have looked fatigued and lacking in confidence which has resulted bad skills and low intensity. But prior to that we have been playing extremely good footy and I had've said too most on here at the start of the season that we would have finished round 15 8/7 having beaten North and almost beating Freo, Hawthorn and Port, we would have taken that.

At the end of last year there wasn't a lot to feel positive about, but this year you look at the development in our under 23 team and there is tons to feel excited about. Unfortunately one of the symptoms of a young side is fatigue late in seasons and we just happened to hit four tough teams with bigger bodies as that started to kick in and that eroded our confidence. But let's not throw the baby out with the bath water here.

This is the horrible part. With Swan in the best form over the last few years, Varvoe in peak form, Adams, Williams, Crisp and perhaps a few other players as well, will we really be in Premiership contention on the back of five or six other player's potential upside over the next few years? Many others will plateau or slide.

It seems to me we are a bit like Essendon of 2009/2010. Starting the season strongly only to collapse multiple times before realising the list isn't quite there.

That's the doubt part. However they were pretty impressive in the way they do play when they're on which is the encouraging aspect. Hawthorn were playing quite good footy when they scrapped home. They are also not getting thrashed this year which most other teams go through. Percentage is pretty healthy.

Which way will it go in the next few years? Interesting times ahead.
