They beat us the same way, every bloody time. We should have known what was coming.

lol - the bolded part is one hilarious commentYou know at times scotty it very much does feel like this indeed, and no, we will never get another "Carey", but you know what, at least WE got him and he was ours. Maybe nothing I say will change things on how we proceed with our list & performances in the future for you, but I'm a pretty good judge on football and things are happening pretty much the way they are suppose to {whether we like it or not} for reasons we probably couldn't comprehend.
We stay the course, we slowly tweak our team, we get more games into our joeys, we get some wins, learn from our close losses and other things will come into play at a more regular interval. You and your kids will get to see us play finals, and when we do, all this will be forgotten.

These aberrant performances keep happening. Plenty of optimists on here and l think l used to be one of them. But other teams are way ahead of us and l cannot see anything changing with this lot. I really believe that the mentality of our older group of players is shot.
Going to take them retiring or being delisted for things to change. 4 years ? 6 years ?

Given we only need one more win, or even a draw, to better our best win / loss record (2021) in the last 5 seasons. I'd say it's not rock bottom. Rock bottom was in 2022 when we only won 2 games. Sure it would have been nice if it didn't take 3 years to double that tally but we're on the up ever so slightly.

Heard an interesting reality check on the weekend.
It wasn't until GAJ's 5th year until he had his break-out season and became the player we all know today. I'm sure the likes of Stevie J, Bartel etc followed a similar timeline.
None of our early recent draft picks are even close to that so it's reasonable to assume there is a heck of a lot of improvement left in us. We are just going to have to be patient unfortunately as much as we all want things to change tomorrow.
The positive is that we can all see the potential our kids have and there's plenty of talent there.
