Could be. We're probably now at a point where removing anyone will just lead to an inferior replacement. The only improvements player wise I can envision involve prioritising uber-competitive players who aren't the size of Mahony, Lazzaro, Phillips, Powell, Drury et. al.

I'd love to know how deeply we actually scout state leagues.

If we had beaten Brisbane and Fremantle would things be different? Self belief comes from wins against quality teams and we have come close but not quite got over the line. I can't help but wonder what if?
Yes. All four of these were winnable, win two of them and everyone’s a lot more positive. Win all four of them and it’s a fantastic season by our standards.

We need to find one or two boys someone with mongrel. Big X has it, so too Parker but that's about it. I can't stand him, but we need a Maynard type. We are a bunch of outstanding citizens we need to become more anti social. I wonder if there is someone hidden away in the state leagues that could be a likely type for us.

Coop, Konstanty, Chom, arch, jy, bull, pc all have a bit of mongrel too

Eddie ford has a bit too which is why I want him back in

The vast majority of what is keeping us where we are is this.

Accepting and affable when we should be defiant and ruthless.
I would say that is second.

Our biggest problem is our skill level. Which leads into their cluster ****ed head space. They fear they are going to **** it up because they know their skills are puss. Even the commentators every week point out it’s our fundamental skills which let us down.

Third is our strength and conditioning.

It's the other way around, our skills are shit because our confidence is ****ed and we panic.

There have been plenty of times this year when we have looked clinical, usually in periods of the game before the opposition have put their foot down. Which suggests to me some of our players can in fact kick a ball.

Of course they can. Otherwise they wouldn't be professional footballers.

We lapse worse than just about any other team. West Coast aren't really part of that equation because they're so shit it's a novelty when they hit the front at all.

I don't know which is first; chicken or egg, but one thing is bloody certain: it's a self perpetuating loop

yes, i think we are a lot better this year then last year but im no where near as excited as i was last year about the next few years.

Can’t agree. It’s constant regardless of the opponent or situation. I see it in intra clubs and preseason too.

We have not one elite kick. Even Kerch is erratic. Our captain has the worst disposal skills in the AFL. LDU is average and Powell isn’t that much better.

Sheezel is probably the only one where I would say it has gotten to him mentally.

We'll...I know a state league coach....and he gets regular calls from many clubs regarding potential AFL players
Never had a call from North
I even passed on his number and told them he was happy talk earlier this year
Never heard from North
He said we were lunatics for overlooking Archer May.

I'm continually staggered at how many members we have given how shit we've been. But maybe you're right maybe this is the year that breaks the Kangaroos' back.
Well not me, I'll die a kangaroo supporter/member, even though the last five years have been bad, it was the first rebuild and probably the last rebuild we will ever see, but we needed it so bad it wasn't funny, going through the tough times being a supporter is where it shows how much of a supporter you really are, even five years of it, when your winning and even mid-table it can cover over some of those cracks and life's good.

Look at some of the so called big clubs having less than twenty thousand people at the footy lately, ones that have a very large fanbase, when they are in finals they come out of the woodworks, the real supporters are the ones that follow their "team no matter what", it doesn't mean that you can't be disappointed or ask the club what they are doing to improve for next year.

I'll be keeping a very close eye on this years trade & free agency period and then the draft to see who we are after, if my suspicion is correct, then it aligns with what we are after player wise and position wise, four months time will tell.;)

Add Port and Essendon to the mix, we’d be wondering if we could get past 10 wins this year. Losing to Essendon especially bad, but don’t think we would have struggled with Melbourne or Sydney if we had some more momemtum

The ladder doesn’t lie. We were very lucky to beat Richmond and the eagles.
That’s our standard
Midfield is the problem
It’s small, slow and they aren’t good kicks, so turn it over a lot

Yet look at the capital we are spending there.

With a bit of BAD luck this year, we could be 1 & 17. The Melb win is the only win we had locked in by 1/2 way through the last Q. The other 3 wins & the draw, could easily have gone against us. Funny how that gets swept under the carpet.

We have zero clue how to bury a side & so we are always going to lose some close games. You can't win every close game.

.Historically North supporters have been a hardy lot. We've had to be. Nothing has come easy.

I think if you follow North you generally have a robust constitution. It seems to be inbuilt.

There's a feedback loop between those first two things.
