I flew over there too! Boomer's last game, because you know he was holding us back or something.

Haven't played Melbourne yet so no.
We're screwed.
This is very true, it’s harder to get out of 8mill debt ( as the club has done ) then rebuild a competitive team over time with the right people. It doesn’t feel like rock bottom/doom and gloom because the off-field side of things is in such good shape.
It’s the opposite of the 00’s when we were ultra competitive operating out of transportable dog kennels.
It kinda makes what’s happening now a bit more disappointing. You can hear it in the voices of club legends who helped rescue this club: “You’ve finally got everything you need - now PLAY!!”
If off-field is in good shape then on-field will turn. Melbourne under Neeld were a basket case from top to bottom. Now I’m not saying we aren’t, we could be, but if our club is well run then this could just be a shit year under trying circumstances with injuries to crucial players and a coach having second year blues, like many players do, in addition to new fitness staff etc.It doesn’t feel like rock bottom/doom and gloom because the off-field side of things is in such good shape.

Lot of ifs but yeah: if the people running the show know what they’re doing then on-field results will come.
If we are still losing by 10 goals every week by the end of the year then changes will have to be made. What the best changes are you have to pray the off-field leaders know. It could be Noble is completely hamstrung by our list management. Or it could be that he’s a terrible coach that’s lost the players and a different coach would improve us immediately, especially defensively. Our list managers and recruiters might have a solid plan to trade or FA a key back and then Comben get a run at it and we start playing with confidence and by mid-2023 we are unequivocally on the up.I hope so. I really do.
I’ve heard it said (particularly if we’re using Melbourne as an example) that rebuilds have to start with defence. Get that right and then build from there.
Are we doing that? I don’t think so. I don’t see any manic defensive intent on any of our lines, at all, let alone for sustained periods.
On the contrary, without skill, we seem to be switching through the corridor to attack in a game plan that has been apparently labelled difficult to understand/execute.
That’s just one aspect of multiple things a club has to get right in order for a rebuild to be successful.
Our list management is another. That’s been dire.
So yeah. What are we doing? I don’t know.
Main draft week when we use our pick 1 and pick 50 after spooning....thats our rock bottom. We were closer to rock bottom yesterday than we are today.
No current season stats available
Are we there yet?
