Yes we officially arrived I blew up the twin turbo Mazda engine. It is all coming together nicely.

Our journey is a nice drive from Melbourne to Brisbane. Been great so far and we are really enjoying the journey. The only negatives so far are that somewhere we took a wrong turn and we are on the outskirts of Adelaide, our luggage all fell out somewhere near Swan Hill, and we left one of the kids at home. But apart from that, it’s been great. Oh and also we’re not sure if the driver has ever driven before.

My young fella turned to me last week and said ‘I hate north so much’, ‘why do I watch this every week when I makes me so sad’.

As I hung up the phone it occurred, it occurred to me. He’d grown up just like me. My boy was just like me....

And the cats in the cradle and the silver spoon, little Jack Mahony and the man on the moon. When you coming back, Cunners? Don’t know when. But we’ll get together then, Kieran Harper. We’re gonna have a good time then.
 I wish it was possible to E-mail someone a beer, because thats exactly what I'd do for you my man, I needed that laugh

I can't help but think what we are seeing is an absolute horror show, but mainly by our standards. Since Barassi we've been proudly competitive no matter the shape of our list and never truly bottomed out, even when we were operating out of a dilapidated shithole that wasn't fit for an under 12s footy club, most of us probably arent old enough to remember a time before 1973, so I reckon that's why the supporter base seems to be losing their collective minds.
Quarter time at our, ahem..'superclash' against the Dogs I certainly started contemplating whether it was time to get Paramount+ and a Melbourne City membership.
But what we are seeing is pretty standard for a full rebuild, and is far from the worst even in recent memory I would have thought. 🤷‍♂️

As every week demonstrates, no this isn’t the bottom.

It can get worse, way way worse.
Jeez it’s grim. It is hard to see how Noble can continue to hold the player’s trust and support with this happening week in, week out. Fitzroy levels of giving up seem close now.

Maybe I've missed one somewhere, but I can't find a single instance in VFL/AFL history, prior to us right now, of a team suffering nine straight losses by 40 points or more. It's hard not to call this 'rock bottom' when you think of not only every terrible side you've seen in the league, but every terrible side you've seen the statistics for historically - from St. Kilda in the 1890s and University in the 1910s, to the Suns and Giants in their first few years - and not even they were this uncompetitive as to be blown away on the scoreboard by this much for this many weeks in a row.

Followed north since the 60s. Seen the Aylettes, Teasdales, Laurie Dwyer's, the magnificent 70's under Barassi. The 90s under Pagan. But right now, is the club being set up for a fall. No good, get out of town, maybe we should relocate you, get a bit of help from us, the AFL, who knows. From what I am watching at the moment there might be a hidden agenda from somewhere

Even gws had one game in 2012 v Gold Coast where they got within 27 points. Then they got within 8 of Richmond by round 12. Eventually beat port Adelaide in round 18 or so.

I agree with this. I remember the relocation fight in 2007 and it was the passionate supporters and a football team that kept on punching above its weight, which saved us.

But today, we no longer have a team like in 2007. And the spirit in the supporters has taken a real hit , because of how bad the team is playing. (read the NM facebook comments)

Would we have survived today, if we faced another challenge like we did in 2007?

I dont know....

just on plane back from US so missed this weeks game. Credit to all those that got there on weekend . Given what was predicted in terms of crowd figure that’s a fantastic achievement.
In all honesty though how much longer until the club makes a decision on noble coaching future? Is there any chance the club have already sort out other options? This is unsustainable

Im super worried.

A team in this mess doesnt fix within a year or two. Its like we are years behind actually starting the rebuild process iteself.

Losing culture is accepted it seems. The coach fails week in week out to get the players up and about. Getting dropped doesn't spur a resurgent return. Let alone lack of skill and “gameplan” execution.

How do we hold onto our young hopefuls?

Everything is against us. You think the AFL would let a willing Clarkson for example take the coaching job at North when GWS are also in the hunt?

A successful North brings much less to the AFL table than a successful any other team.
