Opinion Is this rock bottom?

Next Saturday night will be rock bottom but things will improve from there; on Sunday there will be an emergency board meeting followed by a press conference on Monday.

What's really funny (or depressing depending on how you look at it) is this 12 game losing streak we are currently enduring just sneaks into our top 10 all-time losing streaks.

35 - R17 1933 - R15 1935
33 - R6 1930 - R2 1932
17 - R22 1971 - R16 1972
16 - R16 1928 - R13 1929
16 - R10 2020 - R8 2021
15 - R5 1927 - R1 1928
14 - R4 1968 - R17 1968

12+ - R3 2022 - R15 2022

And with Geelong, Collingwood and Richmond to come in the next three weeks it will undoubtably climb to at least 15 before we have a chance at another victory against either Hawthorn or Essendon.

And to finish with a little piece of trivia, the 1971/72 losing streak began on August 28 1971, one week before I was born and finished with victory on July 29 1972. I was 329 days old before North had a win.

I don't think we have hit rock bottom yet, I don't think we could see the bottom with a spotlight, I would not be surprised if this current losing streak extends past the third one and into the twenties and a majority of the losses continue to be by more than 50pts.

We kicked four goals from quarter time . I thought the word around the traps was we’d improve as our draw got easier .
I can’t see us winning another game this season .
Suppose extending Nobles contract would be a lower point , not much else could possibly be .

I still think it could be turned around with a decent coach and assistants

If I hear the "rebuild" trotted out as the antidote to this record breaking formline I'll Terry Wallace spew.

If we're getting shredded but are playing a full clear future choice midfield at the majority of contests, have 4x 10 year KPPs cutting their teeth up the spine etc then maybe there's an excuse.

But it's all over the shop. We have both shocking formline and don't really see a core of 15-18 of so kids who we're banking on to take us to success.

Geoff Walsh is going to need a bucket of industrial grade disinfectant and a safety mask when he peels back the layers of shit on this club.

Disorganised and devoid of leadership onfield.

These teams are gonna route us.

we have only kicked more than 10 goals 3 times this year. Twice those were in 10 goal losses. and they were all months ago.

We cannot score. We cannot defend. We have a structure we have no idea what we are doing with that we are throwing our best KPD prospect forward.

We rotate for the sake of it regardles of the in game consequences. We have players that are distracted and are showing little desire to be out there. We have players who are woefully out of form and being played regardless. THe cupboard has largely been bare in the VFL and the players that we do have there are a blend of not ready or not in the right positions to make a tangible difference in the AFL.

We are so far at sea we have no idea what direction to swim in.

Off field we have just turned to an old North head to come in and consult on the consulting. Maybe he is the triggerman maybe he isn't. Maybe he is there to tick off 80% of what we are doing. So long with no wins of even quarters of games that 20% he should have issue with is f***ing huge.

Apparently though we throw a mean mid season one night camp.
