This ******* bullshit over whether we should’ve thrown a game to get a draft pick is just that…..******* bullshit. What if hypothetically north had actually won some games between rounds 2 and 24 so the last round was irrelevant? We wouldn’t have finished last anyway and wouldn’t have got pick one regardless and lo and behold the north faithful would’ve actually been happy that we were progressing and not losing games the whole time. Just imagine that scenario for one minute? We as a supporter group would have much preferred having more wins and highs than crying over draft order. Omg. I want to see wins ffs. And tanking is just BULLSHIT and appalling every day of the week.
Your talking about 22 hypothetical games, if my uncle had **** he would be my Aunty. Of course we wanted more wins.
The simple fact is in a one off game that had zero, absolutely zero incentive for the club to win and everything to gain according to the rules of the draft, we lost by winning. All we did was protect some poor supporters feelings about winning a spoon and coping a bit of s*** from workmates.
People on here talk about winning was more important, you’re not a true supporter blah blah blah.
We needed to play the game against an unfair “competition” that bashes us at every turn. Academies, free agency, money, bias media, comprised drafts, draft tampering. AFL is no longer a sporting competition, and hasn’t for many years. It’s a business.
We have missed out on an absolute grade A superstar, Lloyd is right and that in itself is unsettling.
