Nothing has changed. I was actually fooled this year too but remembered we've been here every season under Clarko. The boys get competitive for a few successive weeks, get some hype and think they have earned the right to take the rest of the season off as if they have the credits in the bank.

2024: Honourable close losses to Bulldogs, Melbourne, Collingwood, people think we're about to turn the corner > proceed to completely fall apart
2025: Early win, Honourable close losses to Port, Bombers, Freo, draw with Brizzy > people think we're turning the corner, proceed to fall apart
2026: Couple early wins; Honourable close losses to Swans, Lions, Giants > people think we're turning the corner; falling apart again

If anything, it's worse. Many in the current model have 60-80 more games into them so they have less of an excuse. We are in a permanent ghetto. We can not underestimate what these years have done to this group mentally. It's become their comfort zone.

Awful but was game 5 of year 1 of the rebuild after gutting 11 players off the list.

Would argue it's not even in the top 10 given the context of the last 6 years.
