You know that's not what I am saying. It's clearly not rock bottom.
However, I am saying that our improvement has been overstated by many.
We have beaten the bottom teams and GC off a marvellously friendly draw.
Our last six weeks has been largely ordinary, capped by yesterday.
You're making out as if we lost six games in a row when we didn't.
How is that different to me saying "If we kicked straight and weren't ****ed by the umpires we would have flogged the Swans when they were on top of the ladder."
Because that's as true as what you're saying.
We have only played teams below us or teams in the finals race. We beat one of those - should have beaten three more in a perfect world and lost one game against teams below us in pretty embarrassing circumstances. In the next seven games we play three teams just above us on the ladder and Port at home. That will tell us more about where are at than anything else so far this season.
We have improved significantly but we still have three glaring issues - the ability to defend fast opposition ball movement, the ability to stop an opposition run on and the ability to play football in the second quarter.
That's so far ahead of where we were this time last year.
