Events that occur out of the blue and are so far fetched in terms of what you thought likely are bound to affect you more than anything else. In all wars, there has been something leading up to it, usually attacks on a smaller scale on military targets.
Natural disasters are considered an act of god and while the human suffering is immense, we all know that it could happen. Nobody could have conceived the events that have transpired in America and it shocks us to the core. We are well insulated in Australia and bought up on a diet of Hollywood movies where the American are indestructable.
I don't believe any of you can condemn any others for their own opinion on what has affected them more. In this age of visual communication, it is natural that this sort of thing is going to burn deep. I mean, watching those planes fly into those buildings is a pretty powerful image.
I understand your point of view BSA, but I can understand why others feel the way they do. On Princess Diana's death, once again it was a powerful image scenario. The tragic death of somebody who was a icon for hope around the world. The people's princess.
There are no right or wrong opinions here, just emotions. Let's not belittle each other.
