Atrocious. He was getting 25 touches a game at half back at GWS, also a decent interceptor. Would at least try there considering no one down back has confidence to kick down the middle

Think the biggest tick for him is getting through the season injury free after his last couple of seasons with hamstring issues.

Like others have said, a move to HBF could be a winner - issue is still who moves out/takes the wing position. Somewhat surprised he only kicked 7.3 for the season as he seemed to be active in the forward line a bit.

Don't play an elite ball user like Curtin in that role when we don't try to actively use them

Correct. The only reason Curtin makes the role look decent is because he’s 10cm+ taller than his opponent and has a distinct advantage when we inevitably bomb it to a wing congestion.

True, I aam a massive fan of the way we play a top up player as a full time mid in our seconds whilst we play kids drafted as mids out on flanks to accommodate.

It didn't come back to bite us on the arse at all in the finals when we had no Rash or Rankine as back ups to go through the middle.

When we brought in Cumming - where would you have ranked him in importance of players at our club? Which one of the following players did he have a better season than? TT, Rankine, Dawson, Keys, Walker, FOG, ANB, Peatling, Soligo, Worrell, Milera, Rachele, Keane, Max, Curtin, ROB, Laird.

There can be no argument that he has been in our top 17 players this year. Thats extremely disappointing for his pay packet.

He is on par with Hinge, Butts, Murray and Berry.

Thats just the point. We paid 800K on and gave a 6 year deal to produce what Jones & Nank were easily capable of producing.

Murphy finished 6th in the BnF that particular year, which was an outlier year in his career.

So youve done some mental gymnastics to get "Lachie Murphy numbers".

All in all im not concerned yet, if we are sitting halfway through next year and hes averaging the same numbers then sure.

I dont think we brought him in and paid him all that money to be our 18th- 20th best player.
