How unlike you to take a contrary position for the sake of it. Cameron will be superb when he's clocked-up some game time. Smith hasn't missed a beat and is our most consistent and impactful performer of the 3 so-called big imports as we speak. To suggest otherwise is nonsense.
You don’t think averaging 3.3 goals a game is already superb?

smith has been great at times but he has also been let down by terrible kicking games as well.

on a per game basis cameron is best of the recruits so far this year.

I think you like to be contrary. Smith has been our most consistent and impactful performer. Metres gained is through the roof. End of.

and if my Nan had wheels she'd be a motorcycle.
Valid argument if he wasn’t averaging 3.3 goals a game. the leading the Coleman point was to just put the 3.3 goals a game in perspective. 3.3 goals a game is superb.

now we all assumed this thread was about comparing the new recruits on the quality of their games. Not the quantity. If it was quantity then this is a ridiculous thread as both Cameron and Higgins missed 5 weeks injured.

ofcourse thé answer would be smith.

You think he has been better then a player averaging 3.3 goals a game.

smith is in no ones all Australian conversation. Not one posters.

anyone averaging 3 goals a game come seasons end is a lock in the all Australian team.

end of discussion.

then why make an arguement? If we're talking value it's also Smith since we paid nothing for him. We all know Jez is an absoloute gun and has been great so far.

Cos I didn’t think we were talking trade value nor just quantity of output. apparently Getting injured makes you inconsistent.

lol catscollector the serial disagree-er got me again, must be fun following me around on these boards just hitting that disagree button every time I post ;)

Don't know who you are but cheers none the less
It’s a shame the ignore function doesn’t block reactions too.

Underestimated the effect of adding a couple of left footers into the team, adds additional angles that the opposition has to cover. Shame we didn't make the call back in 2010.
Ol' Billie Smedts didn't really come on like we'd all hoped. With Isaac Smith, it is simply a case of better late than never. And boy, has he been a great inclusion to our best-22.

When he made that smile he was responding to a teammate who had said to him that he can’t play-on. He was just indicating to his teammate that he knew that already

Did people really think that was arrogance? I memed the situation as much as anyone but it was clearly nervous laughter...

See. The disagree without engagement just makes us Feel empty inside. I have no idea which part you disagreed with. i don’t know why. I can’t see your point of view.

what if I disagreed with the op on smith without providing reasoning. He would just feel angry or confused.

it doesnt help with knowledge transfer nor does it ever change opinions.

Emojis and ignoring people are for teenage girls when they're fighting about the Backstreet Boys on Snapchat and sh*t.
Also Smith can GAGF. Ill never like him.
I am a teenage girl. 🤷‍♀️

His on field performance has been fantastic but he also seems like a good bloke to have around. When he pulled that famous smile before he missed in that final I thought it was arrogance, but I think he is just a laid back happy lad who doesn't take things too seriously.

Not having a go but I simply didn’t understand why people thought that.

to me immediately when he did it it just looked like a teammate had said ‘well here’s your chance to be a hero’ or something similar and he gave a wry smile in response.

has been an awesome addition and really brings some run and also some composure.

despite the experience of guys like Selwood, Duncan, Guthrie, menegola, we have looked really flustered at times during most games and smith has often been, during those 10-20 minute periods, the player bucking the trend who can take an important possession and hit a teammate with it.

I don’t think we have had a group of recruits play so well in their first season.

I'd go back to the 99 season when we picked up Bamford, Arnott and Mooney, but even then they only performed well together for 2/3 weeks, and even then not to the same level. Smith and Cameron have walked into our top 6 players IMO.

What are you talking about?......If you had an award for the most consistent player, do you think it goes to the guy that played every game and did well, or the guy that played half the season and was outstanding. Getting injured absolutely takes away from your ability to be consistent. By definition there is a time element and its fair that Cameron and Higgins would be discounted based on that.

I give the award to the guy who was outstanding for the half a season he played.

when you say consistent I always assume we are talking about how they played. Not whether they got on the field. that’s Just injury luck.

Don't assume. Take the time to look up the definition of consistency and learn.

There is no correct definition in regards to football. There are only different definitions that relate to different contexts. I assumed that it was a quality context and not a fitness context.

so what your saying is this whole thread is not about smith performing the best out of the recruits as I presumed but simply a thread to point out that smith didn’t get injured. Wow that’s so not a thread worthy topic.
