Just back from the G.

Question to anyone who watched the game on TV - Have we got any issues to look at this week? There were a couple of brilliant hits from the boys and these days that means trouble...

The ones I recall were the hit on Chapman from young I think and there was a nice big shepherd from someone too.

The Young one might be a bit touchy although he did make contact with the ball at the time of impact.

A question for this at the game...it seemed like Essendon really played Elliot well by dragging him back on a number of occasions...it seemed this way on the telly, was this the case at the game?

Frost on Heppell was a brilliant and fair hit. Heppell waited and got crunched for it.

Youngy on Chappy was unreal. Fair as well.

Loved it.
Thought it was great as well but got a feeling Bucks might give him a bit of a rev as he ignored a very gettable ball in a one on one contest and chose to bump instead.

If you watch Heppell stops and Frost just goes, **** it, if he doesn't want it, I'll smash into him. I'm pretty sure we ended up winning the footy or it went out of bounds. Understand what you're saying though.

I loved it too. I wonder if there's any chance that the rules will be changed back? I really miss the big fair hits that used to happen

The best thing for me was the crowd reaction. Nothing gets a crowd up and about like a big bump. Young on Chapman was right near me and to see Youngy do that was just sensational.

Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a great bit of aggression along with his rag dolling of forwards he was giving away inches to. Loving him and Keefe...wouldn't mind knowing Keefe's kicking %'s as he rarely seems to miss a target.

Exactly. Compare that to the crowds reaction when we need to go to the third umpire...

Maybe the players association can get a vote going? All the players get to put an anonymous vote in whether they are happy for the bump to return. If more than 80% say yes, then we can get a hip and shoulder back in the game? P.S I know I'm dreaming and the reality is that the game is heading even further away from head high contact.

Did notice Elliot in the defensive 50 and in the last line of defense at times, was surprised to see him that deep. Not sure what the deal was there.

I have no issue with that. He’s a crisp user of the footy, and can mark. It’s a chop out and assisting the mids and defenders.

Does anybody have the footage uploaded yet? Cannot seem to find any from both bumps but admittedly I have not looked too hard. Too busy celebrating with a nice bottle o' red.

Frost should be ok because there wasn't any head contact of any consequence and Heppel bounced straight back up. Young however has problems.. he left the ground to bump and got chappy in the head leading to him having to leave the ground for a concussion test. Anyway... I did so enjoy seeing those bumps though... ah.. brings back sweet memories of pants Milane.

Keefe is brilliant. Right and left doesn't miss a target.

The Young bump on Chappy should be interesting actually because although Young did leave the ground to bump....SO did Chappy. The fact that Chappy came off second best this time was coincidental, they both were intent on making contact with each other.

Young was going for the ball. Taking out Chappy was incidental contact, and a wonderful bonus that should not even be considered reportable.
Likewise, Frostys bump on Heppell was fair, no high contact. Was wonderful seeing that mop top fall over like a sack of ****.
Will be astounded if the MRP can find anything in the two incidents, and if they do I would hope the club appeal with no second thoughts.

Haven't watched the replay but if Maxy's jaw had of been broken today there would be outrage. Look to me like he was king hit behind the play. Held his jaw for a while after.
The fact there is no injury means no report I guess.

In my eyes it was the worst incident of the day. Am I wrong? Did anyone else see it?

Frosts bump resulted in a goal. A 12 point turn around. Loved it.

The fact that Chappy left the ground and Young still managed to collect him in the head actually makes it worse for Young.. think about it...

Saw it, razor ray gave the bombers a free kick because Maxy tried to bite winderlichs forearm!

I was blindsided because of my seats, but what you've described sounds identical to Zeibell's suspension the other year.

As soon as you jump into a bump you're gonna have a bad time...
