Cheezy was brilliant last night. I was at the game so i'm not privy to the official stats, however I thought he was superb, and if their are changes for next week they should not include him.

His pressure, experience and center square work was fantastic and I thought he pressured as well as anymore.

Should retain his spot at the expense of Mcaffer.

PS - Is Ben Johnson out best player ATM?

He wasn't bad, but he was by no means brilliant.

Just another stock standard O'Bree game - always know what you will get from him. Lots of tackling pressure, good inside work and marginal kicking off both feet.

I love him, but Wellers replaces him next week no probs if fit.

The only people under pressure you would think would be Wood and Macaffer.

I thought we looked our best when we had Jolly, Ball, Swan and O'Bree in the middle. His kicking was pretty good and think he genuinely doesn't deserve to be dropped.

I can't agree. Straight swap back out for Sharrod.

O'Bree seemed to play half forward for the majority of the game and had the most inside 50's of any Pies player. He is just about the last player I want playing that role. Pretty much every kick he had was a nothing kick, never really looked dangerous. He wasn't bad by any stretch, but he wasn't good either. He's depth for mine.

O'Bree was good early, but seemed to fade late, but he probably wasn't good enough to keep Wellingham out, which just goes to show how good we are going at the moment.

O'Bree's lack of pace makes him almost "worthless" on a huge ground like Subi, especially when we also have Pendles and Ball, who just lack that pace thatt suits the big ground.

We need Wellingham next week, so although O'Bree was good, he shouldn't play next week.

Not the last we will see of Cheesy though, he will play another 5-7 games this year at least, and may well still be a part of September if injuries/form slumps occur.

Just another example of our great depth.

Mcaffer needs a break. I think O'bree offered much more than he did tonight. Also thought would was decent and should hopefully keep Fraser out of the team for a while.

We still need to tighten up in defense, I really think North Melbourne kicked too many goals

Would (Wood) needs a few games in a row like Brown and Reid. Agree on Mcaffer out and Wellingham in.

Yeh our defence over the last couple of weeks seems a bit loose. The name Prestigiacomo springs to mind.

thought it was the opposite actually

then again i was watching on a poor stream and its hard to make out who's who in the tight contested situations. probably why i didn't notice much of balls work :(

will have to watch the high resolution replay as soon as possible

Shawry and Harry O while providing a great run have been far too loose defensively during the last fortnight.
Agree with you on the Johno call, his first half last night was bloody sensational. He might have even polled few Brownlow votes in the last month.

People seem to call for Macaffer's head just for the sake of making changes...

It isn't Dream Team people, he didn't do anything wrong last night and he is a 22 year old kid with about 10 games under his belt, why the hell would we rest him? 22 blokes can't star every week, he is doing his job perfectly at the moment and I reckon the coaches would be really pleased with how he is tracking.

I thought Cheesy was average, continually kicks worm burners and handballs to blokes who are flat footed. If that is his brilliant game, I really don't want to see a terrible one.

Straight swap for Wellingham, we don't need two hardened inside boys against a reasonably young Dockers team, we need to continue along the path that has seen us improve this year and keep showing faith in the youngsters.
Extra speed will help a lot too, they have a quick midfield, stark contrast to the Roos.

I thought O'Bree was poor in the first half. He lacked that awareness & quickness of decision, you could tell he'd missed a few weeks at AFL level. I thought he adjusted in the second half & was much better. I definitley think he's a straight swap for Wellingham though.

Guess i'm on my own again :(

Mate I thought he was excellent in the first and last quarters as I the digital dropped out and I missed 2 and 3.

Cheesey is still an integral part of the side despite the rush by some to write him off.:thumbsu:

im sorry but i must of been at a different game
obree struggled really early i thought, got better as it went along
just looked super slow and fumbled a lot

macaffer on the other hand was good, enjoying what he is doing, coming along very nicely without standing out

Couldn't disagree more. Pranced around the field with no intensity last night, and more disgracefully, without an opponent. No one went with him last night because he is so poor, and he just got cheap kicks on the half forward flank.

Terrible footballer, always has been, and shouldn't be near the 22.

very interesting week at the trade table for collingwood.

presti and wellingham would surely both come back in for the crunch game, then you have jack anthony and tarks performing well and on the cusp of a recall, aswell as Josh Fraser.

Obree did play (cringe) pretty good so it would be pretty hard to drop him.
Nathan Brown who i think has done his job, but would surely have to move way for presti and the great game by reid edges browny out.

Im not sold on mcaffer, might just be me but i wouldnt be surprised if he got chopped this week.

Dawes was lucky on the weekend got 2 lucky goals, one running into an open goal and one which cam wood marked. Jack would be pressing hard.

IN: Wellingham, Presti
OUT: Mcaffer, Brown

I think collingwood will bring josh in for the geelong game, make sure he is fully fit. Although i believe woody is a better option. Jack Anthony will return to the side shortly, with or without dawes.

Dawesy also had 4 goals assists. as well as 15 or so touches and I'm guessing about 6-7 marks, I would take that pretty much every game.

Dawes also gifted 2 goal assists. And had I think
another 2 or 3 involvmnts in scoring chains. Took a handful on contested marks and also made his pressence known. At the moment Leon Davis would be the one on the cusp I reckon. Mccaffer had only 15 touches or so but had surely close to 10 tackles. He's safe. Sharrod for obree is the only possible change. Obree played a good game. But in a 10 goal win the majority of midfielders/forwards are all gonna be playing well. Wood I was very dissapointed with however I'm willing to give him one more week. Prob being a bit harsh there on woody... Presti maybe for Nathan brown. But I'd also be happy to rest presti and make sure he's cherry ripe for the Geelong... This is a bloody good problem to have
