It is officially a crisis.

I've been a game attending supporter for 70 years, and a continuous member for 38. I got my grandson (born 2001) to follow North. I now regret doing so. He has been a game attending member member since around 2006. In 2023 he attended every North game in Australia. I joined him for some.

We both left the game last night at full time wondering why we bothered. The playing group has lost all confidence and appears not to buy into the game plan. Is this because they aren't skilled, talented, or fit enough to carry out the plan OR they just don't believe in it or the coach.

I looked at our history going back to 1956.
Over 2000 to 2025 (to-date) our win-loss- draw is 237 (43%) 312 (56%) 4 (0.3%).
Over 1956 to 2025 (to-date) our win-loss- draw is 626 (48%) 667 (51%) 12 (1%).
There is no quick fix to this, but action has to start NOW and the Club has to keep the members informed otherwise the Club won't last. I don't want excuses but demand a realistic accountable plan of action.

While Tasmania won't accept us being relocated, they will gladly take over our AFL License. If that happens "F**k the AFL".

WA would probably accept us as a relocated Club on the basis of significant help. I'm unsure how I would react to this, probably follow the Club by watching on TV and go to Vic games as a pay at the gate follower.
I hear you mate. 70 years here too (less a couple of months) and 60 plus continuous membership. I have never felt as helpless and deflated as I do right now. I just have no faith that we are heading in the right direction. Clarko looked absolutely spent in his presser yesterday and that just compounded my footy depression. Nobody is giving us any hope. I don't want to join the throng calling for heads - president, coach, list manager - but someone isn't doing their job and enough is enough.
We are the most irrelevant club in AFL history. We are losing young members hand over fist (personal experience here) and that will cost us for a long time.
Something has to change now. I'm just not sure what it is. But I still think people like us hurt more after a loss like that than the players seem to.

Agree with your bolded point. There is no quick fix, but the Club must desperately looked at what is going on and take action for both the short and long term. Witch-hunts and shaming will only cause the AFL to step in. The Club has stuffed up, perhaps with good intentions (getting Clarko), but it needs to step in and control the process.

Just had a look at the ladder. No team has conceded more than 700 points this season........ except us.
Yes but we have scored more than 13. This clearly shows that defense is one of our issues and I'm not just referring to our backline.

I'm not convinced yet that Clarko is the wrong person. Has he got the right people around him? Assistant coaches, medical staff, fitness staff etc etc etc. The senior coach is important but the 'coaching team' is more critical. This is where the non footy people have a role to play. The President, the CEO - are they asking the right questions? Are they demanding answers as to why we are playing heartless, at time gutless footy? Are they demanding results? Are they questioning embarrassments like yesterday? Are they asking ou list management folk what the fugg is happening with a list with some absolute quality that cannot win games or, at times, even be competitive? Or are they just accepting that we are crap and rebuilding? I'm fugging asking the questions now.

Not wrong. Lynch mob anger just want heads to roll. Probably one of the worst courses of action.

Definitely looking forward to senior player replacement, especially with players who have a heart. George W intent.

Just cant see it though. The team is so behind I dont think time will fix it.

Staying on course is equally as bad as culling because the course is misguided and misdirected. Its the wrong course.

Man I hope Im totally wrong.
Not the wrong course at all. Definetly some wrong decisions, but this course was necessary. Clarko was even necessary.

Let's be real, we weren't getting better then clarko at the time. And the assistant coaches we got wouldve been worse.

Players wouldve left without clarko. We wouldn't have good people come without him.

You know what **** it.

The night is darkest just before the dawn... maybe it's coz logically nothing should change given the situation we are in.... maybe I'm clinging to the history of dimma and bomber Thompson going thru reviews and almost sacked then premiership coaches... but **** it let's bring some positivity. Our time will come - north will beat essendon in a fortnight

If our course was represented by a night, we are only at 9pm daylight savings.

Im half glass full but it’s warm piss in my cup. Struggling to stay positive.

Same but I'm legit depresses about it. Almost ruined my day with my 2 kids. **** that. It's either give up on north or just be positive, or spiral and neglect my family.

So positive it is.

I'm one of the rose colored glasses fools.

Right up until last night. Last night ripped those glasses off and smashed them into a million pieces. Will take more then a couple of wins to piece them back together. Last night evaporated all hope for mine.
How am I positive again... but stuff it!

We are in a much better place the 3, or 6 years ago.

So many players signed up. Good people wanted to come to the club. It's not the daunting task it once looked like.

Sheezel FOS and wardlaw look like guns. ldu can be. Mckercher and duursma could be. That's enough to excited about.

Kids can learn to tackle and put in effort. A la any Ross Lyon team. Stick fat and the up ride will ve so so so much sweeter

They wouldn't do it because we had a coach and club leadership who wouldn't allow it.

It's not even just that. It's that they had bruised pride and egos from being beaten.

This lot just shrugs and moves on to the next flogging.

I don't generally like the terms but the difference in the Alpha vs Beta sportsperson is pretty obvious.

And don't look now, but the Tigers are giving the GC a touch up..... I said a few weeks ago 4 wins felt a long way off, and we've got worse!

I wonder if the players respect Clarkson or think of him now as an eccentric uncle? Are they really believing what he's selling?

I'd love to know some of the conversations Jed Adcock must be having with the players? He came in with a reputation for brutal honesty.

Embarassment for the club has probably passed, this is on the players and their personal character now. Where's their self-respect to not even compete?

Sad Arrested Development GIF

Just found a huge positive: on our current trajectory we're on track for 3 wins, with only PC playing well.

Last year we won 3 games, with no less than three blokes having elite seasons.

Now if that's not progress, I don't know what is
